The space

Sunflower Cottage is a romantic self-catering cottage in McGregor, and is one of the oldest and most loved historical houses in the village.

Originally built in the 1880’s, its thick adobe walls, mud floors, reed ceilings and thatched roof are perfect natural insulators against the heat and cold of the Little Karoo. It is situated within easy walking distance of all shops and restaurants in McGregor.

Sunflower Cottage is a lovely base for you to explore the beautiful village of McGregor and the surrounding wine lands - or to simply just retreat and immerse yourself in the feeling of a bygone era. The cottage is purposely not equipped with distractions such as TV and stereo.

The garden surrounding the cottage is tranquil and peaceful. It is not fully enclosed but with a few measures it can be made enclosed for middle sized dogs not to get out.

Features of Sunflower Cottage:
•1 x en-suite Double Bedroom with spacious mosquito net
•100% Cotton Bed Linen and Towels
•Fully Equipped Kitchen
•Secure Undercover Parking
•Large Patio and Braai Facilities

We had a delightful stay at McGregor. The cottage was gorgeous and well-equipped - such a thoughtfully renovated slice of history. I lazed in the hammock for hours. The town is quaint and it's a short drive to Robertson for supermarkets and wineries.

Amazing cottage, perfect location, everything is so very thoughtfully arranged. Without a doubt one of the best stays we've had along the way. And McGregor and its surroundings (Robertson valley) are worth a visit! Thanks, Claudia, we'd love to come back one day.
