HERITAGE & HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
High Street at The Rocks is situated on an escarpment above Hickson Road, with views overlooking the Girri Girri steps, Nawi Cove and Barangaroo. The site is a part of a group of Federation era terraces/cottage flats (2-36 High Street) designed by Walter E. Adams, constructed c.1911 and developed by the Sydney Harbour Trust for the waterside workers as a part of the post-plague redevelopment of The Rocks, Dawes Point and Millers Point. As such it is a rare example of a comprehensive urban renewal scheme in NSW.

Neighbourhood highlights

Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Barangaroo. You name it. All major icons are just a small stroll away.
Best location in Sydney for any visitor who wants to be centrally located to all Sydney's major attraction, CBD and entertainment precinct. You still get the peace and quiet living in a local neighbourhood while basking in the historically rich precinct where every street has it's own wiki page. One of the safest, well lit, low crime neighbourhoods in Sydney.

1. A Living Museum of Sydney's History:
Back in time as you wander through a remarkably preserved 19th-century village, nestled right under the Harbour Bridge. You'll see sandstone cottages, historic pubs, and cobblestone laneways that tell the story of Sydney's colonial past, from its maritime beginnings to the modern day.

2. Home to Iconic Landmarks:
The neighbourhood is the proud doorstep to two of Sydney's most famous structures: the majestic Sydney Harbour Bridge (you can walk onto it from here) and the contemporary masterpiece, the Sydney Opera House, both offering breathtaking, up-close views.

3. A Hub for Food and Conviviality: Experience the authentic atmosphere of some of Sydney's oldest and most beloved pubs, like The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel and The Hero of Waterloo. The area is also a culinary destination, boasting everything from casual cafes to award-winning fine dining restaurants with spectacular harbour views.

4. Village Vibes with City Proximity:
Enjoy the unique contrast of a quiet, community-focused village feel with its small parks (like Observatory Hill) and quaint terraces, all while being just a short, scenic stroll from the bustling CBD and The Rocks.

5. The Gateway to Barangaroo:
The neighbourhood seamlessly connects to the modern waterfront precinct of Barangaroo. Here, you can stroll along the harbour foreshore, explore parklands, shop at designer boutiques, and dine at a vast array of bars and restaurants.
