A beautifully designed, newly converted self-contained annexe to Moor Lane House, situated in the East Devon village of Talaton. The 'West End' provides a comfortable private base for exploring the beautiful county of Devon.

The space

The well equipped two-storey annexe comprises: a small country style kitchen, stylish wet-room, a comfortable sitting room and a double bedroom.

The Ground Floor:
- Kitchen/Dining area: oven & hob, microwave oven, toaster, fridge (with icebox) and all kitchen-wear; wall-mounted TV/radio.
- Wet-room: electric-shower, basin and loo & towel rail.

The First Floor:
- Sitting Room: comfortable sofa, Freeview TV, DVD (and video player), Digital Radio & iPod docking Hi-Fi.
- Bedroom: a simple, smart bedroom with a 4'6'' double bed; a chest of drawers and hanging space.
- Free wi-fi.
- Mobile signals are good in most areas.
- Parking: There is on-drive parking available and storage for bicycles if required.
- Outside Space: There is a small garden in front of the annexe which guests will have sole use of.
- Linen: Towels, bed linen, hair-dryer, and independent electric central heating are all provided.

Guest access

The annexe has its own separate front door - thus the guests will be given their own key to come and go as they wish. There is a small garden with a table and chairs for your use beside the parking space , but the gardens to the rear and side of the house will unfortunately be off limits.

Interaction with guests

We're usually around and always happy to help.

Other things to note

We live in the beautiful Devon countryside and are blessed with a dawn chorus of birdsong accompanied by an orchestra of rook chatter! The contribution that nature makes to our surroundings is something I cannot influence and from our many reviews, happily most guests have embraced this!

This home is in a great location for visiting Devon and Somerset. It is lovely, peaceful and ideal for couples. The kitchen is well equipped if you are cooking however, Sue provided a great recommendation for our anniversary meal. We would definitely return.

Highly recommend this lovely home from home for a relaxing, cosy place to stay. Lovely countryside on the door step and only a short drive from the coast. A real find, thank you Sue for the warm welcome and the little added extras. We would go back when we next venture south.

The location is nice and peaceful on the edge of the village. We attended a 3 day music festival at Escot Park and due to the weather not being great it was nice to come back to a clean warm and dry home rather than a tent with a 15 month old baby. Sue was a warm and friendly host. The accommodation is perfect for 2 + 1 baby. The travel cot fitted comfortably in the bedroom. Our little boy loved visiting the chickens in the garden and the horses up the road. There is a good welcome pack and some essentials in the fridge when you arrive. We would recommend this property.

We loved the cosiness of the West End. Sue and Simon have made sure that the cottage is a home from home with extra touches such as a welcome pack which covered breakfast, fresh flowers and even shower gel in the bathroom which we'd both managed to forget. Sue always responds promptly to emails and was very friendly. The West End itself was very clean and comfy with plenty of books, games and DVDs to cover any rainy day. We just loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

Married for 40+ years to Architect husband Simon, we built Moor Lane House 28 years ago. We have two grown-up children. After travelling to Australia in 2014, where we learned about Airbnb, we now enjoy sharing our lovely bit of Devon countryside with travellers from all over the world!
