Over a hundred years the Old Dairy Bales has sat as part of the fabric of a thriving Dairy Farm in the spectacular Gold Coast Hinterland. It’s been our dream to live at “Hillview Homestead “ -the original settlers classic “Queenslander” design house of this district.
Our family resides at the main Homestead on the same property (a long distance from the Dairy), it is now our absolute pleasure to welcome you and share it. We respect your privacy and will never pop in unannounced.
Hillview Dairy is a wholesome, heartwarming and truly magical space, thoughtfully restored which we absolutely love to share. Featuring 2 seperate large King sized rooms each with a sofa bed. The Barn accommodates 4 guests comfortably. We welcome 4 extra guests if they are happy to utilise the sofa beds (max 6 guests)

Guest access
Hillview Dairy is located on a Horse and Cattle property. The Dairy area is fenced for your safety. Guests have access to the Dairy entrance, car park, small fenced garden and fire pit area. Although the property is expansive, guest access is restricted primarily to the Dairy due to roaming livestock. Guests must communicate with the owner, Simone, if they wish to explore other areas beyond the Dairy boundary including the main Homestead.
(Please note, the property is rural, it is essential you ensure your children are aware of livestock and waterways..creeks, dams, watering holes on and beyond the property)
Other things to note
Hillview Dairy is beautifully curated and appointed with all the amenities required for a luxury stay. Thoughtfully sourced artwork, curiosities, furniture and high quality linen. Full kitchen with retro smeg appliances, juicer, blender and plenty of cookware, glass ware and platters. Of course, basics - pepper, salt , olive oil, coffee , tea are provided. Laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid and plenty of dishwasher tabs are included.
A magical “under the stars” luxurious bathroom with a large bathtub complete the picture. There is an abundance of towels, soaps and little bathroom extras you may have forgotten. We try our best to ensure you have everything you need to ensure your stay at Hillview Dairy is a special one. We value any suggestions you may have to improve your experience.

GUEST ACCESS
Hillview Dairy is a working farm with roaming livestock. Our horses are often grazing in the top paddock near the Dairy. You are welcome to feed the horses (carrots only) from over the fence. Our cows are mostly agisted on a property further down the valley. The Dairy is fenced for your safety. Guests have access to the Dairy entrance car park,small fenced garden with fire pit. Our farm Guest Pup Concierge team - Smudgee, Peggy and little Peanut may visit during your stay. Please notify us if they are “over-friendly” or not welcome.
POOL - Enjoy a dip in our MAGNESIUM DEEP PLUNGE POOL.-please note it is NOT Heated.
FURRY FRIENDS-
Our Pet Concierge Team will welcome you with open paws- it includes Smudgee, Peggy and little Peanut. They cherish their role as the welcome committee for our Guests and their furry friends at Hillview. They are, however, quite discerning. Please read their pet policy below and specify in your booking if you will be travelling with 1 or 2 pets. The deck and dairy garden is securely fenced.
We charge a small fee for our most welcome pet guests. Please confirm pets when booking.
If you have Pet allergies - Hillview Dairy will not suit you.
PET POLICY-
Maximum 2 pets total.
Must be de-sexed.
Over 12 months old and toilet trained.
Must not be left unsupervised on the property.
Must be cleaned and dried prior to entering (dog towels provided)
Not permitted on furniture.
Please provide your own pet bedding.
Dangerous breeds are not permitted.
Please confirm the breed upon booking.
EXTRA GUESTS - IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION
We aim to ensure the barn is affordable for couples only and a lower price point. Prices are based on 2 guests sharing a room. Thus we charge a small fee for extra guests. Please confirm the guest numbers when you book.
CLEANING-
We do not charge our guests a cleaning fee. Most guests leave a light footprint and treat our Dairy respectfully. Please leave her as neat and tidy as you found her.
BATHROOM ACCESS
Please note - Bathroom and toilet is accessed via one of the King bedrooms or via the external veranda.
CHILDREN WELCOME-
Please note - the property is rural. It is essential you ensure your children are aware of roaming livestock, waterways,creeks and dams. It is important they do not wander.
FARM ANIMALS - our Pups, Horses, Chickens enjoy a fine life at Hillview. Our Cows happily live ajisted on a farm down the valley.
We do not offer Farm Tours, however you are welcome to feed our horses carrots only over the fence. Horse riding is not available at Hillview , there are local stables nearby for Horse riding.
COWS - you may meet Farmer Bobs cows at our entrance. Our cows are currently agisted further down the valley
FIREPLACE- There is an indoor wood fireplace and outdoor fireplace. Plenty of firewood provided complimentary.
RETRO CRUISER BIKES - 2 available with helmets for your use inclusive.
INTERNET- Our STARLINK Wifi Network is NOT highspeed. Our 2 Smart TVs offer Netflix streaming -this often buffers. Highly recommend content is downloaded prior to arrival. Local TV reception is not available. A good opportunity to “disconnect”. We supply a healthy selection of books, puzzles and games including art materials.
LOCATION HIRE/PHOTOGRAPHIC SHOOTS
We welcome photographic shoots. The Dairy and beautiful surrounds provide a unique backdrop for location hire, content creators and family portraiture including pre-wedding shoots.
Please notify us if it is your intention to utilise the space for this purpose. It is important to us that your brand aligns with ours. We do charge a small fee for commercial photography conducted on-site.
MEDIA AND CONTENT CREATORS
Hillview Dairy main purpose is to offer an escape for our guests to disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with nature, to slow down and get back to basics, the important things in life-family, friends, health and Mother Nature. With a focus on a “soft footprint” and inspiring our guests with the same ethos.
ALL media and content creation MUST align with our family and our brand values.
We receive a large amount of requests and we do our very best to accomodate.
AIR CONDITIONING - The main living / lounge area has a split system for heating and cooling and a ceiling fan.
Bedrooms - Fans only (electric blankets for winter)
There is no heating in bedrooms or bathroom.
COFFEE MACHINE - Smeg retro - ground coffee provided (also plunger) also a NESPRESSO pod machine is provided.
BUGS - Hillview Dairy a 100 year old BARN - situated in a rural area in tropical Qld. Yes - almost every imaginable bug /critter drops in from time to time. Regular pest control is maintained. Bug spray and natural coils are available.

We aim to keep our footprint light with sustainability in mind. The Barn is Solar powered with rain water. Recycling and reusing is our priority. We source our amenities as thoughtfully as possible.
