Clear Mountain, Queensland, Australia

Love hiking, be sure to pack your bush walking gear and explore Clear Mountain Conservation park, 15min by foot from Walkabout Retreat!

From peckish to ravishing take a short 3 minute drive up the crest and enjoy your favourite meal at the Clear Mountain Lodge with breathtaking views over Lake Samson, the Glasshouse Mountains, Moreton Bay, BNE harbour and the City.

Horse Riding:
Trevena Glen Farm
For animal-centric things to do in Samford, families can combine a village visit with a trip to Trevena Glen Farm situated on 22 acres of land in the foothills of the D’Aguilar Range, just a 10-minute drive from Samford Village.
You can book in for a horse riding lesson, tailored farm experience or tour and if your child has a birthday coming up, Trevena Glen Farm can even throw you a party!

Cedar Creek Nature Reserve is a absolute 'must' after a good downpour, with cobbling streams and cool pools to spend a few lazy hours.

Samford Village:
It’s located close to the city, but feels a world away with its rolling hills, wide, open spaces and country charm. Samford has managed to maintain a buzz around its café scene, so you’ll find yourself wanting to linger longer for a second coffee before wandering next door to the local produce shop for some of Samford’s freshest food. You’ll be keenly aware of the community vibe in Samford, with real country hospitality around every corner and over every hill.

Samford’s welcoming atmosphere, natural beauty and proximity to both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast make it a great place to stop for the day, night or even longer. Many a day tripper has found themselves wanting to make a life here with so many eclectic things to do in Samford and its surrounding areas.

Good old fashioned country values are dear to the heart of the residents of Dayboro. Filled with generous warm-hearted locals, a day trip here is always a pleasure.

The scenic drive to Dayboro makes it worth the visit alone. Located less than an hour from the Brisbane Central Business District, take the drive through Samford and enjoy the mountain views.

In the township, make your first stop at Hay Cottage in the centre of town, which provides tourist information as well as selling arts and crafts. There are numerous tasty dining options in Dayboro, including historic pubs filled with the atmosphere of yesteryear.

My name is Christa, I’m a mother of two gorgeous young adults and live with my hubby, Marius in Clear Mountain, surrounded by Eucalyptus trees and birdsong. Making Art is one of my favorite things to do. Colours and lines combined with emotion provides pleasant, unpredictable artworks. When I am not in my studio/ gallery we're exploring 4x4 bush tracks and the long white stretches of shoreline. Long walks and reading are luxuries I cherish.
