The space
Reviews confirm what an exquisite place bukurabeachhouse is for the perfect holiday. People love it for all sorts of reasons. The residence is beautiful with exceptional grounds and ocean views where you can spread out if you are a large group and enjoy the fabulous 12m lap pool or the ocean swimming pool with tiny electric blue resident fish. It is incredibly private and the ocean view is simply spectacular, the perfect setting for your family get together, honeymoon or to write that novel you’ve always contemplated!

bukurabeachhouse is situated on the waterfront of the Bukura Plantation, 15-20 mins by car from Port Vila. Entrance to the property is through a secure electronic gate, three pavilions make up the residence and each is designed to maximise stunning ocean views and ocean breezes. There are fans in all rooms and the cross ventilation minimises the need for air conditioning. This is a house designed for the tropics. Stainless steel mesh (Crimsafe) covers all louvres and doors allowing the ocean breezes to flow throughout.

The main bedroom pavilion has a king size bed situated to capture the magnificent view of the ocean. There is an en suite with bath, toilet, hand basin and shower (with its own ocean view!). A balcony has steps leading to the ocean and lap pool.

Next door is the living pavilion that includes the kitchen with high quality fixtures and fittings including a three metre Ceasarstone island bench and all stainless steel appliances. There is a BBQ on the balcony or you might want to chill out in any of three comfortable couches where you can watch the ocean liners sail past in the distance, read a book from the book library. Also in this pavilion is a small laundry with washing machine, toilet and hand basin. Eskeys and banana lounge covers are provided for your convenience.

Entertaining areas abound. There are the table and chairs on the long balcony overlooking the ocean, the dining table inside the house, or another dining suite on the far side of this pavilion in a small courtyard surrounded by tropical plants. Outside there are a number of palm leaf fareas - a farea consists of a roof made with woven palm frond leaf - island style! - with lounges where you can simply relax or gaze out at the ocean pool and the coastline to Port Vila in the distance.

There are two separate bedrooms in the guest pavilion but only one is available to guests. Options include a king bed or two singles depending on your requirements. All beds overlook the ocean through the beautiful tropical gardens and each bedroom has it's own dressing room with a shared bathroom which has two hand basins, Ceasarstone bench, toilet and a large shower overlooking the tropical gardens.

You might want to try a swim in the ocean where you can jump off the edge of the reef into the crystal clear water and a variety of beautiful tropical fish swim with you through the colorful coral. If snorkeling is on your list of 'must dos' then you can practice in either pool before going out over the reef. Bukurabeachhouse lets you indulge in a relaxing break away from the noise and hustle bustle of the city.

We respect your privacy so daily room servicing is not included but can be arranged if required at an additional cost.

Guest access
You can access the whole house. This is not like many airbnbs where other guests will also be there at the same time. When you rent this property you are the only people using the entire property. I will not be there when you come.

Other things to note
There is a weber bbq for your use as well 2 x one person and 2 x two person kayaks.

Having recently been assessed by an engineer for insurance purposes, this house has a current cyclone certificate. Remote controlled shutters are easily accessed if there is a serious weather event. There is a generator which is easily switched to power the entire house. While I hope you never have to experience a cyclone, if you are travelling to Vanuatu during cyclone season this is very, very important.

Where you’ll be

Shefa Province, Vanuatu, Vanuatu

The house is in an area mainly populated by Australian and New Zealand expats on land around 1-3 acres in size. It is very quiet but with lovely views across the water. Restaurants and activities are not within walking distance - about 10 mins by car. The Coco de Mer restaurant is great and the food at the Beach Bar is delicious. There is lots to do - the Beach Bar has Friday night Fireshow and Sunday night acrobatic show - all very popular. Mele Cascade Falls are also local and the famous Zipline, sky bridge and canopy chair swing are very popular for thrill seekers. At Hideaway Island you can even post a letter in the underwater post office. You can easily drive to town for shopping and local restaurants.
