Welcome to Fairy River's whimsical Underground Cottages, nestled at the heart of the majestic Mourne Mountains. Sleep 5/6 in two cosy, ensuite bedrooms with plush linens. Create culinary magic in a fully equipped kitchen. Warm up by a log burner stove and unwind with modern amenities. Step into a private garden, dine alfresco amid awe-inspiring views. No pets, but a magical experience awaits our human guests.

The space
Welcome to Fairy River, where your dreams of living in an enchanted fairyland come true!


Our underground houses, subtly integrated into the landscape, offer you a magical retreat at the foot of the High Mournes Mountain Range. With private car parks just 50 meters away, you're greeted with convenience right from your arrival.


Each house sleeps 5/6 guests comfortably in two ensuite bedrooms. The first room houses 3 single beds, while the second offers a double bed and a single bed. Rest easy on pocket sprung mattresses, nestled under hotel-quality duvets. Crisp sheets and fluffy towels await you.


For our smallest guests, travel cots are tucked neatly under the bed in bedroom one.


The heart of each house is the fully equipped kitchen/living room area. Prepare enchanting meals with all the amenities at your disposal - fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all the pots, pans, and cutlery you need. The dining table stands ready for magical feasts.


On chilly nights, cozy up by the log burner stove, with turf, wood, and coal provided. For added comfort, each cottage is warmed by gas central heating.


Modern conveniences blend seamlessly with the mystical charm. Each cottage comes with an ironing board, hair dryer, and iron. Stream your favorite tunes on a portable Bluetooth speaker. Stay connected with a Smart TV and WiFi.


Step outside into your private garden, complete with natural stone bistro and dinner tables, adorned with custom-made cushions. A small BBQ awaits for those alfresco dining moments. Soak in the breathtaking views of mountains, river, and sea from your patio and grass garden.


Unfortunately, we can't accommodate pets, but we promise an unforgettable experience for our human guests!

Venture 10 miles into the picturesque village of Rostrevor, offering a selection of pubs, restaurants, walks, mountain biking trails, and the CS Lewis Narnia Trail. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and sailing here.


Take a ferry over Carlingford Lough from Greencastle, 8.5 miles away, and step back in time in Medieval Carlingford. For seaside fun, visit the town of Newcastle, 14 miles away, offering pubs, restaurants, amusement arcades, and golf courses.
