We are nestled in the forest of Brush Mountain, ten minutes from downtown Blacksburg and VT campus. Start your day with coffee or a book on the deck or breezeway. Enjoy the evening sounds as you gather around the fire pit (fire wood is provided). Most days we see deer and have lots of bird activity in the gardens and surrounding trees.

The space
We are located on a cul-de-sac, down a winding gravel drive.

Guest access
Wooden stairs, at the end of the breezeway, provide entry to the studio loft. The stairway has many nooks where one can sit for quiet retreat with coffee or a book. Below the breezeway is a garden area and fire pit surrounded by chairs and available for your enjoyment. We have a deer fence that we request be kept in place to save our gardens. FYI during the day, the shades when 3/4 down allow you to see out but no one to see in.

Other things to note
The terrain is hilly with a unique layout. Be alert to footing on gravel and various steps.

Location

Five minutes west is Pandapas Pond with hiking and mountain biking trails for all levels. Five minutes east is a local gem, Tea and Jam. They serve smoothies, juices, tea, soup and all gluten free & vegan light fare. Just over the ridge lies Giles county in all its natural mountain beauty. It's at least worth the ten minute drive to Hilltop Grocery to take in a quick view and grab a freshly made biscuit made your way. Along that route, to your right is Salt Pond Mountain and Mountain Lake offering several trails with majestic views. Further into Giles is Cascades National Recreation Trail, always a great outing. In the town of Eggleston is The Palisades Restaurant serving thoughtfully sourced and creatively presented fare as well as a favorite Sunday Brunch.

We are "empty nesters" that have have lived in Blacksburg for more than thirty years. With the children scattered, we have space and time to host others. Over the years, in our travels, we have always enjoyed the unique housing options provided by hostels, bed and breakfasts, as well as, airbnb"s. Both of us appreciate the individuality of folks and their unique stories. Hosting provides us with the opportunity to make new acquaintances while sharing this unique space that we call home. Please feel free to ask, as we are happy to offer suggestions for local restaurants and excursions.
