The property offers a Burley log burner, which is a modern design log burner - perfect for making the lounge cosy and warm in the evenings. Please note there is no fire guard and the burner does get hot so if you are worried about children please do not light the fire whilst they are around.
We will provide you with some logs and sticks to get you started, if you require more we can arrange this for an additional cost or you can purchase them locally at the pub in the village.
Please note if you bring a pet the animal must not go upstairs or on the beds and a dog crate is requested for overnight as there are no doors in the open plan living area where they can be contained.
Please bring slippers and refrain from wearing your shoes indoors.
The photos show the cottage as it was when we lived there, personal items as shown (such as photos & children’s toys) have all been removed and the result is a calming space, furnished with tasteful modern decorations.

*Covid 19 *
We wanted to provide reassurance to all future guests during this time. We have always had a rigorous cleaning schedule and we have many reviews which comment on how clean our cottage is. We do all the cleaning ourselves so we always know the standard of cleanliness and can be assured that nothing is missed. During this time we are using stronger antibacterial cleaning products and bleaches to ensure the cull of any germs left behind. We are washing linens at a minimum of 60 degrees, they are then dried via a high setting on a tumble dryer and pressed through a linen press at a very high temperature. Light switches and door handles are sprayed during every clean with a germ killing product. We have committed to the Airbnb enhanced Covid cleaning schedule. Please do ask if you have any questions.

Hackfall woods in Grewelthorpe is on the doorstep of the property, featuring amazing dales walks with waterfalls and follies. There is a playground in the village with a large duck pond (with lots of hungry ducks). The village also has a village pub and a cafe. The Himalayan Gardens are located in the village offering sculpture, picturesque gardens, a cafe and a play park. The village also has an observatory due to the low levels of light pollution that is part of the Nidderdale Areas of Outstanding Beauty.
Ripon has a number of independent restaurants and pubs. There are 5 supermarkets in Ripon and a large co-op in nearby Masham. The surrounding areas have lots of places where you can enjoy being outside in the rural Yorkshire Dales. Swinton Park / Hackfall / Studley Royal / Masham are all within 10 minutes of the cottage. Our location is wonderful for escaping and finding some comfort in nature. Masham features 2 breweries where you can enjoy a brewery tour and a pint of locally produced ale (Black sheep & Theakstons) . Cosy beds and a log burner will help you feel restored and relaxed following your stay & children will sleep soundly after a full day of fresh air.
