Beautiful area
Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The Cabin is located at Hamurana, in a 2 acre garden setting 350m from Lake Rotorua. Located 120 m from the owners house and is completely private. All around are Sugar Maples with ferns and native plants underneath which attract the fantails. Purpose built and architecturally designed in 2019 as a holiday retreat using passive home guidelines. The cabin is a 15 minute drive from Rotorua CBD, close to all tourist attractions while allowing you the peace and quiet of a luxury retreat.
The space
Parking is available next to the Cabin, with array of garden sensor lights to lighten your way when returning after dark. The stone outside bath is an opportunity to enjoy the night sky from the warmth of your bath with outside garden lighting adding to the ambience. Enjoy a café style coffee from the pod coffee machine or a cup of tea from the range of teas.

When you arrive you will see a sign giving you directions to the cabin. If arriving at night garden lights will come on as you arrive at the cabin Parking is within a few metres of your accomodation.
Other things to note
Please note Air BnB charges you and us both a service fee but there is NO additional cleaning fee
We just ask you leave the cabin clean and tidy.
Wifi - As we live in the country we do not have the benefit of fibre or fast wifi. Some days it is slower but adequate for sending emails watching Netflix etc. If you require fast wifi for your work or other activities you may want to consider staying in Rotorua where fibre is readily available.

Hamurana is an area bordering Lake Rotorua, it is a quiet rural area with most properties being lifestyle blocks. Okere Falls Store, Okere Falls and Café Dynasti at Ngongotaha are great places for daytime eating or Eat Streat in Rotorua giving you lots of dining options. There are an array of takeaway shops as well as a 4 square store situated in Ngongotaha. Hamarana walkway takes you from the end of our road (350m) to Hamarana Springs.

David and Christina Chemis have lived in Hamurana for over 20 years .David retired 2021 after working with international students in tertiary education . Christina was a Human Resource Advisor at the Institute of Technology and retired in 2022. Both love to travel and have been fortunate to travel to many parts of the world. As a consequence they enjoy meeting all their guests at some point during their stay.
