Walk to local eateries & shops. Additionally, nearby metro parks, groceries & other shopping make this a perfect place for business or pleasure travel, families, couples, singles, overnight, or long-term. We are LGBTQIA-safe, affirming, and welcoming!
Our cleaning fee has increased due to COVID-19 risks for our housekeeping staff.

The space
When our children headed of to college this unique apartment served as a temporary "empty nest" for us as we sold our larger home & searched for something smaller. *Temporary* ended up being over 3 years! Though the exterior of this cabin was and is covered with not-so-attractive siding years ago AND it was joined with a neighboring building to make a duplex, we felt a pull to purchase it anyway. A quirky, uninspiring exterior is still what you see when arriving, there is even a slight slant that can only come from a more than 100 year old cabin. We have exposed the character & beauty of some of the interior log walls, added live edge walnut shelves in one bedroom, a barn siding light fixture in the kitchen, and vintage roofing metal on the living room shelf to make this a unique & cozy space.
The first floor has a small bedroom w/ twin bed, a spacious living room, galley-type kitchen, and a full bathroom. The kitchen has basics such as pots, pans, dishes, wine opener, coffee maker, coffee, tea, sugar, and a few small snacks. In addition, there is a filtered water spigot at the kitchen sink. The full bath has plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a first-aid kit. Living room has a 42" wall-mounted television with a Roku set to Guest Mode so you can use your own streaming subscriptions for viewing. There is wi-fi available, but no cable. Upstairs you will find a large loft-style bedroom with queen bed w/ memory foam mattress, a futon that converts to a full size bed, a very large closet, ceiling fan, and 1/2 bath.
We've decorated with a mix of antique, vintage, new, and used furniture and art throughout, which makes this space comfortable, warm, and inviting. The large deck on the rear of the home has a gas grill and a table & several chairs for dining al fresco or enjoying your morning tea while listening to the birds sing. Because of the way the original structure was built the deck is a full story off the ground & not suitable for small children. There is a dedicated driveway with space to park 2 cars. There is very limited street parking available. We offer self check-in with an electronic deadbolt lock w/ lighted keypad. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1 twin bed on first floor, 1 queen bed & a full-size futon on second floor, 1 twin size cot that can be set up in the living room or the master bedroom.
**no smoking inside the unit (we will charge you a fee to remove smoke smell)
**no pets allowed (we will charge you a fee to have a company remove pet dander)
**no use of the back yard
**no parties or events

Guest access

Other things to note
* COVID-19 is real. We take it seriously and our housekeeper takes it seriously. The state of Ohio currently has a mask mandate for all people outside of their home or automobile. Please bring your own face covering. We expect our visitors to follow this mandate and help keep our community healthy. If you don't want to comply with the state mask mandate please don't book our place.
* PLEASE read the house manual on the coffee table.
* In the summer there is a window AC unit upstairs. It will get the upstairs COLD. We ask
that you help us and help the planet by keeping it set at 76 or above.
* We do everything we can to have disinfectant products available for our guests, however, it is very difficult to obtain these during the pandemic. If a lack of disinfectant products will be a problem for you please bring your own. (Our housekeeper always disinfects high touch surfaces when she cleans between guests)
* 2 gravel, dedicated parking spaces adjacent to the building.
* Street parking is very limited.
* Guests do not have use of the back yard.
* Guests do not have access to the small. locked closet in the living room.

exterior. Kitchen cabinets, countertop, and bath/shower are certainly not new but they
are always clean.
* We ask that our guests take the trash bin to the curb if staying on a Tuesday night. Trash
will be picked up between 5am-4pm on Wednesday.

Lithopolis, Ohio, United States

The village of Lithopolis was originally laid out in 1815 as Centerville. In 1836, it was chartered as Lithopolis. The name Lithopolis is derived from the Greek language and means “Stone City” (thus the name of our Airbnb is Stone City Duplex.) The name Lithopolis is a reference to the large deposits of valuable stone that were found in and near the town. The native stone was used in the construction of The Wagnalls Memorial Library. (be sure to check out this beautiful building and treasured landmark.)
For dining, drinking, and snacking El Pedregal Mexican restaurant, and Das KaffeeHaus coffee shop are just 2 blocks away. Other local shops include Law & Benson Olde General Store, two antique stores, and an assortment of other small shops within blocks. Coming to town for a wedding, reunion, or other event at the Old Blue Rooster venue? We are only half a mile away!
If you love the outdoors Chestnut Ridge, Slate Run, and Walnut Woods Metro Parks are all less than 5 miles away and Three Creeks Metropark is 8 miles. In addition, Old Man's Cave/Hocking Hills State Park is 42 mi. away. All of these parks are beautiful and have great trails!
Brew Dog brewery and Tap room is 5 miles away (check out the Columbus Brew Trail and the Rt. 33 Brew Trail.) Columbus international airport is a 20 minute drive. There is a Walmart and Kroger 5 miles away. There are no pets on the property and no pets are allowed
