Brown Bike Farms is located in a rural meadow on a scenic back road, bordered by Burnett Creek and only 15 minutes from downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee. South Knoxville's mountain biking trails, pubs, and breweries are close enough to access by bicycle.

The space
Brown Bike Farms is dedicated to the preservation and propagation of native grasses and wild flowers, and the support of natural pollinators. Mowed campsites and pathways border tall grasses, home to butterflies and bees. Honeybee hives are located on the property, providing local honey (available for purchase - ask the host!) while assisting with this mission.

Guest access
Brown Bike Farms has cold potable water and portable toilets. A common fire pit is centrally located for socializing around a fire, and firewood is available. A shower is planned for 2020!

Other things to note
There are bees on the property. We have never had a guest stung, but anyone allergic should be aware. There is poison ivy in the tall grass, and the possibility of other native species that sting, bite or itch. We ask all guests to stay out of the tall grasses, for the benefit of the flora and fauna, and for their own safety.

The Burnett Creek Basin is a rural pocket in Knoxville's Urban Wilderness, minutes from restaurants and breweries. A grocery store is a 5-minute drive away, and we have had pizza delivered to the campground. At the same time, there is little light pollution, and a primary noise is the gurgle of Burnett Creek that bounds the campground on three sides.
