The space

Tucked back under the trees this historical log home is truly out of a storybook. Park your vehicle and step back in time as you ascend the steps to the wide, high-peaked-ceiling porch that is perfect for reading, sitting, reading, talking and bird watching. The front door opens into the charming, log-beamed ceiling great room. Windows look out onto the meadows and private lawn of the side yard — pretty views all year long. A large, stone fireplace divides the room and is a four season favorite of our guests. The kitchen, to the right as you enter, is complete with four-burner gas stove and oven, large refrigerator and an antique wood burning stove. WiFi is also provided.

Only 45 minutes from Jay Peak, Stowe, and Smuggler's Notch ski resorts, and a few minutes drive from world-class cross country skiing at the Craftsbury Outdoors Center. On site is dogsledding and out your door x-country skiing and hiking trails that will keep you busy here or visit near-by Lake Eden for fishing, swimming, and boating. Go for a drive and see quintessential Vermont villages, farmers markets, breweries and wineries, and shops full of local specialties.

This classic log home has room for nine people on two queen size beds, one twin size bed, and one pull out couch and two pull out love seats in the living room. The two bedrooms are on the second floor, and the master bedroom has a balcony overlooking a picturesque meadow (full of wildflowers in the summer!). There is one bathroom on the main floor. The Larkspur Cabin features a spacious open floor plan, full kitchen and fieldstone fireplace. The porch is equipped for relaxing and barbequing. Make s'mores and view the stars while enjoying a campfire in the provided outdoor fireplace.

The kitchen is fully equipped including pots and pans, tableware, appliances), washer/dryer, cleaning supplies. All linens (towels and bedding) are also provided.

We also operate Eden Dogsledding Adventure Tour Center, and you can go dogsledding, a lifetime experience, while you're here. Tours run year-round, on traditional sleds in winter and dogsledding-on-wheels in the warm months. Our teams of friendly, Alaskan Huskies will be happy to entertain you during your visit! Ready for a doggie fix? Guests booking a dogsledding tour, starting at $395, receive 10% discounted lodging.

You can also check out the listing for our more modern guest house, the Foxglove Cottage, which is located next to the dogsledding center. Foxglove offers room for seven, with two bathrooms, a large kitchen, woodstove, and radiant floor heat that offers extra warmth in the wintertime. Reserve both lodges and accommodate a large group or extended family!
Rates listed are for 4 people. Extra persons are $25/nt.

Jim's place is the perfect winter getaway for those who want to disconnect and recharge. Ride a dog-sledding tour, snow-shoe in the woods, ski for a day... Jim lives right next to the cabin and operates a successful ethical dog-sledding business. He is busy but very accessible …

We had an amazing time staying at the larkspur cabin! The property was exactly what we were looking for - remote but comfy and cozy. The grounds are gorgeous. Jim was a perfect host and his dogs were such a cute welcoming crew. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful and relaxed weekend with my family and dog at Jim's. The cabin is very spacious and beautifully decorated. His dogs are very well behaved and were very friendly as well. We look forward to having more time to rent his cabin again in the future!!

We spent a wonderful weekend at the cabin and all loved our time there! The cabin was even better than pictured - plenty cozy and all the appliances we could have needed. We hiked around the property, cooked meals in the kitchen, and played board games (provided by the Jim!) by t…

We had a great three days over New Years at the Larkspur cabin. Be careful on the roads to the property in winter and heed the warnings about 4 wheel drive or snow tires. We had five cars successfully reach the cabin even though none of us had either but one car got stuck on the …

Amazing remote location, best swimming pond ever. Really cute comfortable log cabin. Jim is a friendly host. Cons: literally next to a pen of very talkative sled dogs. Sometimes the noise can be too much. Also, mouse droppings and mice visible in the cabin. Still, overall a great…

I've been operating Eden Dogsledding, a dogsledding tour center here in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for over ten years. I have a kennel of Alaskan Huskies who are like my family. Ethical animal care is very important to me, so I've developed ways to keep all my dogs free-range …
