A perfect home away from home, everything was spot on, the chooks in the back was a bonus and the pub walking distance away was too. Quiet and restful which is what Gail and I needed as we were putting long hours into the Qld Garden Expo. All thing being even we hope to return next year. Geoff and Gail Toowoomba

We had an enjoyable 2-night stay at Kari's. We loved the rustic atmosphere and her pottery. Kari is very artistic and musical. Highly recommended. It was nice to have met you Kari.

Kari got straight back to me when I requested a room, and she was very warm and welcoming. We had a comfortable bed in her gallery room under the house, surrounded by all the beautiful pottery she makes, and there was even an ensuite and a little kitchen facility attached. We had the freedom to come and go as we pleased, and could walk to the pub - which was why we were in Palmwoods, to listen to the Friday night live music. There are some great places to eat - we whiled away Friday afternoon in the gardens at Rick's Garage after eating the best burgers we have had for a while. We also met a lady with a vision at the old fruit growers' sheds down by the railway line. She sells lots of lovely stuff made out of wood, and is planning to have a number of artists join her in the space in a few months' time, when all the renovations are done. You can walk everywhere in Palmwoods, have a coffee, have a drink or a meal, admire the arts and crafts AND be at the beach in 15 minutes.

Kari is an absolutely gorgeous host, very gentle and kind. Piccabeen Pottery is a wonderful space surrounded by nature - peaceful, calm and therapeutic. I slept incredibly well despite the fact I had a very busy schedule - always a good sign! The bedroom is airy and clean with yummy organic cotton sheets and the perfect pillow. I also managed to leave my car and house keys behind which was a real problem as I needed to catch a flight back to Sydney. Kari kindly met me on the highway to give me the keys and saved the day. I would certainly stay here again if I was ever up that way.

Kari has a warm and gentle manner which I found welcoming - I immediately felt comfortable and at ease in her characterful home. I appreciated her attention to detail: perfumed oil, jasmine on my folded towel, comfortable bed, meusli and herbal teas for breakfast. Waking to birdsong and the sound of chooks in the back yard was indicative of the sense of peace her little patch of rainforest offers. A lovely stay...

My parents stayed at Kari's house for one night and I was allowed in the house to be with them in the evening and for breakfast. Her house is very lovely with lots of character and pottery items. It's also very close to the centre of Palmwoods and a good situation to explore the region. Kari was very welcoming and friendly and we would definitely recommend to stay with her.

Thanks, Kari, I really appreciated you having me stay for the three nights that I was in the area for a function, despite my late arrivals each night. Just needed a bed and a shower, and it was perfect!

Hello. I'm Kari, local to the stunning Sunshine Coast for more than 20 years.
I have lived in Indonesia, and have traveled to France, Holland, Italy, Greece, UK, Ireland, and Timor Leste. Speaking fluent Indonesian and conversational French, plus a smattering of Greek, I welcome travellers from anywhere in the world.
I run a little pottery from under my home, and am involved in the local arts community.
I'm also a marriage celebrant, conducting bespoke rituals and ceremonies for couples!
My home is welcoming and creative. I look forward to meeting people and sharing life stories, with a cup of tea or glass of wine, by the fire in winter and on the veranda in summer.
