This is a stylish log cabin located in a pristine wooded area at an altitude of 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) in Iizuna, Nagano. The home is the perfect retreat for couples, families or small groups. It features a wood burning stove, large TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, stereo, leather chairs, and full kitchen. Enjoy hiking, skiing, BBQ, golf or hot spring onsen baths in the area. The home is approximately a 20-minute drive from Nagano Station on the JR Hokuriko Shinkansen bullet train and Shinano Railway.

The space
This is an all natural log home that mixes the best of traditional wood construction with modern comfort. It is cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter. Anyone seeking a relaxing time in a rural, isolated setting will not be disappointed.

Other things to note
For heating the home has kerosene stoves and a wood burning stove. Kerosene is unlimited. Just ask if you need the stoves refilled during your stay. When using the kerosene stoves, be sure to allow some fresh air into the home at least once every couple of hours by opening a window.

For the wood burning stove, one complimentary bundle of firewood is provided to guests per night. Each additional bundle is ¥800. Please inform us before check out if you would like to purchase additional firewood. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood, and firewood can be purchased at various home centers in Nagano City.

Other important notes on the wood burning stove:

-Always wear the heat resistant gloves when operating the stove to avoid burns.

-Never burn anything in the stove except for firewood as it could cause a chimney fire.

-When a fire is burning hot, do not open the front window to add firewood as hot embers could accidentally come out. It is safer to open the side door to add additional wood.

-Never allow children to play unattended around the stove when in use.

-Even after a fire has been extinguished, use caution when opening the stove or cleaning out ash as some hot coals may remain.

USE OF THE WOOD BURNING STOVE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY RESULTING FROM ITS USE. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY BURNS OR OTHER DAMAGE TO THE HOME RESULTING FROM IMPROPER USE OF THE WOOD BURNING STOVE. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE USING A WOOD BURNING STOVE, IT IS BETTER NOT TO.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Nagano, Japan

Nagano is one of the most mountainous areas of Japan and is well known for its gorgeous nature. It is an excellent destination year round, and is great for hiking, mountain climbing and camping in the spring, summer, and fall and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. It is also a great place for relaxing in traditional onsen hot springs year round. Nagano became famous internationally as the host of the 1998 Winter Olympics.

Our cabin is located in a forested, mountain area at a high altitude. It is completely quiet and is the perfect place to relax and escape from hectic city and work life.
