A beautiful historic home set in the heart of Cowra located between Cowra town centre and the Japanese Gardens. Sense the history of this magnificent old home from the moment you arrive.
It benefits from westerly views over the Lachlan Valley. It is a deceptively large home spread over three levels with two substantial living rooms and five bedrooms.
Furthermore, the home has a solar system and a storage battery to limit the homes carbon footprint.
The space
The home is an old country home spanning three levels with a homely ambience with most rooms benefitting from high ceilings.
On the lower ground floor there is a 7.4 metre informal living room with space for dining and living with wood burner. Attached to the living room is a kitchen and cellar, on the same level there is an outdoor laundry and shower room. On the ground level there is a substantial 8.5 metre formal dining room, sunroom along with four generous bedrooms configured to offer three queen beds and one room with two king single sized beds with family bathroom. On the upper level there is one more bedroom with a queen size bed which completes this wonderful home.
Guest access
There is plenty of parking on-site. It is in a residential street in Cowra and according to Google Maps it is an 800 metre walk to the Japanese Gardens and 800 metres walk to Cowra's main high street Kendall Street. Please note that the walk into Cowra is mostly downhill and the walk back to the home is uphill.
Other things to note
I write as the owner; my wife and I are the current custodians of the home. This is a country home and needs constant maintaining, all monies we receive are re-invested in this home. In 2019-20 we had the exterior of the home painted and new blinds installed. In 2020-21 we diverted a substantial amount into renewables with a solar system and two tesla batteries to lower the carbon footprint of this home. In 2021-22 we installed a water tank, and we are in the process of being able to collect the rainwater from the roof for the gardens. Plus, due to the home's age we continually work through the home on internal plastering and painting.
