Bright, playful and creative vacation cottage with a bathtub in a greenhouse right by the fields, 45 minutes from Amsterdam. In a small-scale recreational park on the Markermeer.
A special feature is the garden greenhouse as an extra living space, with unobstructed views over the fields and the dike.
The open layout gives the cottage a spacious and playful character and makes it especially nice for families.

The space
ENTRANCE.
From the parking lot, you walk to the cottage via a car-free path. There are handcarts for your luggage at the entrance. The cottage is located near the parking lot. All around, trees, shrubs and the fenced-off ditch provide a lot of privacy. In the garden, there is a trampoline.
LIVING ROOM.
Cozy living space with an open, creative layout, comfortable seating area and smart TV. Under the sofa and in the open cupboards, you will find toys and books. Large windows and the open connection to the greenhouse provide plenty of light and space.
KITCHEN.
Open kitchen with stove, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There are a dining table and a high chair (which can be found in the closet in the bedroom).
GREENHOUSE.
The spacious greenhouse is a special additional living space with unobstructed views over the fields and the dyke of the Markermeer. In the greenhouse, you will find a bathtub and a sofa bed! In the colder months, the wood-burning stove provides warmth and ambiance. In the summer, the side windows can be opened, and fans are provided. Sleeping in the garden greenhouse is an option (depending on the weather conditions).
BEDROOMS.
The master bedroom has a double bed (160 × 200) and a wooden baby cot on wheels, which can also be used as a playpen.
In the greenhouse, there is a double sofa bed (with optional mosquito nets). Would you rather not sleep in the greenhouse? In the living room, there is a second sofa bed as an alternative.
Please note: The cottage has a very open layout. If you are booking with more than 2 adults, please note that there is little privacy between the different sleeping areas.
The bed in the master bedroom is made. One extra set of linens is provided for the sofa bed.
BATHROOM.
Spacious bathroom with double sink, separate toilet and large rain shower. Due to the unique open layout and large sliding doors, the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen can be separated from each other in various ways. The bedroom also has its own separate entrance.
OTHER.
The cottage is located on a small-scale recreational park with privately managed cottages, in the middle of the greenery and with an unobstructed view over the fields.
PLEASE NOTE: This cottage is LOCATED IN NATURE.
In certain seasons, this also includes insects, spiders and other small visitors. We do our best to keep them outside. We do not control them with poison, but use natural remedies where necessary.
Guest access
Guests can use the entire cottage, the garden and the greenhouse. The recreational park is car-free around the cottages, which ensures extra peace and safety.
Other things to note
- No (birthday) parties, events or gatherings allowed.
- Respect for peace, nature and neighbors is important, especially in the evenings and at night.
- Smoking and use of drugs are not allowed.
- Only the guests who have booked are allowed to stay in the cottage; receiving visitors is not allowed.
- Due to the open layout, the cottage is less suitable for four adults who would like privacy.
- Please bring your own bag of small logs for the wood stove in the greenhouse.
- It is a nature cottage in a green area; spiders and insects may be present.
- Bed linen is included; please bring your own towels.
- Please treat our cottage and its furnishings with care.

It's only a minute walk to the big Markermeer Lake.
Simply cross the street from the parking, walk up the dyke, and the big Markermeer lake opens up to you.
When you walk some minutes to the right, you'll find a waterfront park, down at the lake, which is a great place for a picnic, to play with a kite, sunbath, and for a swim in the lake.
A walk on the dyke is highly recommended in the evening, during sunset, as it gets a magical touch (or early morning...).
The drive from the house/holiday park to the city of Hoorn, while staying on the dyke next to the lake, is breathtaking. We love this small detour when we drive back to Amsterdam.
There is a tiny picturesque village/community named Oosterleek (less then 100 inhabitants, there are no shops. You can walk to / through this village, also with kids (about a 20 min walk). Oosterleek is the resting place of the Wesfriese Omringdijk between the VOC towns of Hoorn and Enkhuizen.
The dyke is the starting point for cycling or hiking through a varied landscape of orchards, colorful tulip fields, pastures with cattle and picturesque villages famous for the West Frisian bell farms.
