Burnie Brae (circa 1908) is set amidst a leafy established garden, in a quiet historic precinct of the township and is within easy 5 minute walking distance of the local main street with it’s shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
FIREPLACES:
The fireplaces on the property have been decommission, so are therefore usable as per requirements of the insurance of a heritage property.
The space
The property is furnished to a high standard in a traditional manner suitable to a house of it’s era and also retains many of it original features, including it’s 11 foot high pressed metal Wunderlich ceilings in most of the rooms and Kauri Pine floorboards throughout.

FIREPLACES:
The fireplaces on the property have been decommission, so are therefore unusable (NOT TO BE USED) as per requirements of the insurance of a heritage property.
A short and easy drive away is the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, with all its natural beauty and various attractions just waiting for you to explore.
The house is centrally heated and offers a very comfortable environment for those wanting space. As well as the formal lounge and dining rooms, there is a spacious country kitchen complete with a dishwasher. The bathroom has a relaxing double shower and the bedroom comes complete with a queen size bed to relax in, at the end of a fantastic day.
Burnie Brae (circa 1908) is your home away from home and is available to couples seeking a romantic getaway from that busy city life.
The initial pricing is structured around one couple (2 adults/1 bedroom option)
However, a second bedroom option is available and a pricing structure for this is applied accordingly. This area is locked off when not required.
Note: The property is only suitable for one (or two) couple(s) to stay at a time and is a non smoking and pet free environment, and is not suitable for children.
Unfortunately the fireplaces in the house are not working and have been decommissioned, as they are not covered by our insurance and any use or attempt to use them is in breach of the insurance and it is thereby cancelled.

Like most places anywhere a car is always the best way to get around as you will get to see more.
However saying that, there is a tourist bus service which cover around 30 of the major things that guests want to do. The cost is around $25-$30 each and it is a 'hop on - hop off' service which runs every day of the week. The ticket lasts all day.
Going out at night is just a short 5 minute walk up the road and it's all there: cafes, bars and wonderful restaurants from the inexpensive to the fine dinning.
It's all on our doorstep.
However, if you don't have a car and want to hire one, then there is a car hire place up here , just ask me for the details and will gladly forward them to you.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for viewing properties that I have listed with Air BNB.
Mike's On Mac - Trendy Inner City Accommodation
Offering comfortable accommodation in Alexandria and a great alternative to a hotel room as you can prepare your own meals.
Located mid way between the airport and the city and is close to trains and buses to get you around various parts of Sydney - city, airport, beaches, and hospitals.
Burnie Brae (circa 1908 ) and ATELIER (the former artist studio)
This is main house on the property and was built in an Edwardian/Federation style in 1908, and is one of the premier houses in the area.
Whilst retaining many original features including it's Wunderlich pressed metal ceilings, the house also provides a sense of warmth, comfort, space and homeliness (with modern day conveniences of course) and is suitable for one or two couples to stay.
ATELIER - Stylish Holiday Accomodation.
This the former artist studio of the previous owner and is nestled in the rear garden of the main house Burnie Brae and is at the end of short winding path through the north-side garden.
Externally, the studio is very deceiving as it blends in well with the main house, but internally, it can easily be described as light, airy and modern and is perfect for a single person or a couple to stay.
And now a little bit about me:
Prior to moving up here over 16 years ago, I grew up in the inner city area of Sydney and use to always be drawn to the Blue Mountains in my youth for bushwalking and camping expeditions with a nature club that I use to belonged to.
Over the years I have tackled many of the spectacular bush-walks and enjoyed some of the areas best cafes, pubs and restaurants, so I am happy to give out a 'locals' recommendations where consistency, service and atmosphere are the key defining factors.
As well as running Burnie Brae (circa 1908) & ATELIER, I also have a full time job in the city.
I guess I would best describe myself, as pretty much an easy going and helpful sort of guy, that enjoys most things that life has to offer, especially busk-walking, gardening and cooking.
If you see me around the house , its usually on the weekends about one a month, so just say Hi !
