Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Please be mindful before you book that if it rains road will be closed and 4wd will be needed to gain access if conditions allow via different directions.
Remote and 15 metres off world heritage listed rainforest. This is the ultimate if you are looking for a place to wind down and simply enjoy watching the day go by & recharge your entire self in this beautiful part of the world.

The space
Richmond on Cambridge is a beautiful log cabin in a truly beautiful part of the world. With stunning views of the picturesque Theresa Creek Valley and beyond to the peak of Mount Warning. On a clear night see the Byron lighthouse shine brightly and the local towns light up for an amazing night time show, but the ultimate night time show is the million stars that give a spectacular show all of their own! And being over 550 metres above sea level you can nearly reach out and touch them and grab a falling star!
With absolute privacy and peace and quiet it is the ultimate getaway for the romantics, writers, artists or composes, nature lovers, birdwatchers to the stressed out executives, this is the place.
The bathroom & kitchen is separate to the cabin. The bathroom has a beautiful claw foot bath that has the most amazing view, so soak away all the stress in our heated mountain spring water with your favourite drink on hand.
We are completely off the grid... eco friendly, solar panels, flushing septic toilet and spring water.
The cabin has a wood heater to keep you warm on chilly nights.
Wake up to the beautiful sunrises without having to leave the bed or wake up in the clouds.
If you wish for a homegrown steak for the bbq or a roast please enquire as we usually have then available at an additional cost.

Guest access
As we are neighbours to World Heritage Rainforest, there are many walks or drives to do. We are a working cattle property, you are more than welcome to walk around the property. We have 30 acres of rainforest with a very special world heritage listed silver teak tree.

Other things to note
The road in is dirt/gravel as you drive through the National Park. National Parks will only allow guests in with 4wd when rained. When the road gets dangerous the national park will lock the gates so no access is allowed. National Parks also will close road and only give me a days notice so at times it is completely out of my control. These times in dry conditions and 4wd access can be made through our property.
4wd vehicle is recommended all year round though in dry weather standard car will make the trip easily along National Parks road.
The cabin has lights but they are only minimal so if you plan to read then bringing a torch or lantern is a must.
There is no power points in the cabin as it all runs on a 12 volt system. You will need to bring your own firewood unless you are happy to pick up sticks under our trees.

I am passionate about the land and the animals that call here home. I am extremely fortunate to have the beautiful national park as my neighbour. With the majestic old trees, birds and wildlife is something that I will never take for granted. We are a 650 acre beef cattle property. We try to be as self sufficent as possible, growing our own beef & pork. We have chooks and ducks for eggs & meat. And when the weather allows us we have our vegetable garden going. The property is basically my life, never liking to venture to far away, though I do enjoy fishing, couple of days away and I am more than ready to come home.
