This is our second project in the house.
Finished a bit later than planned, due to corona.
Everything (or almost) is new, new bathroom, kitchen, floors, ceiling,…, the works as they say.
With corona, everything from towels to bed-linnen is always washed at 60 degrees. Hand sanitiser is provided upon entrance to the house and also upstairs. We try to keep it as safe as possible.

The space
L'atique is a two storeys apartment upstairs in our house.
We're happy to welcome you here with all you will need for your stay.
We think you will find everything you might need, all private. The only thing that is to be shared is the hallway and the terrace, downstairs behind the studio which we also let on airbnb.

Guest access
About parking, we have one free space on the station's parking lot.
But we have 2 spaces for guests in the house.
First come, first serve…

You do also have to check if your car is still allowed into the city, as Gent is now a Low Emission Zone. We live just inside the LEZ, so if you're not allowed in the city, it's not that far to walk from the car.

Just on the other side of the train station, parking is only half of what you pay inside the LEZ, three euros a day, instead of six.

In front of the trainstation there are 5 free parking spots. If we have Jurgen's fathers car, we put our car on one of those in the evening, when they are mostly free, and then put ours elsewhere so you can get the free spot.
If you are on the parking lot, and wish to stay longer in Gent after checking out, we suggest you put your car there the evening before checking out, so you can stay there as long as you stay in Gent.

Other things to note
No problem leaving luggage after check-out, you can always come back to collect them with the key in the key-locker, just ask for the code. Rainscreens are available in the hallway downstairs, if you would have bad weather.

Location

Ghent, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium

Dampuurt, little old Town House on Hagelandkaai, just across the old lock.
Near Kiosko, a summer bar in the little lock house.
City Hall at 900 m, not 25km…
Nightshop just behind us in Dampoortstraat, literally our back neighbours, we call it The Big Fridge.
One block further along the big road is an artisanal Bakery.
Turkish, African, Bulgarian, … shops in Dampoortstraat, and a good SPAR supermarket on Joremaaie, passing in coming home, like 300m from the house.
Dok Brewery is in walking distance, with 30 beers on tap, pizza, burgers, barbecue.
Really nice place with good food and beer. It's on an newly renovated old Factory site, worth a walk around. That area along the other site of the water leaving the city, is now being newly re-developed.
