Weston Farm - Seaside stay is set in the small hamlet of Saltwater River, located on the Tasman Peninsula.

This little gem is perfectly positioned, in close proximity to the Historic Coal Mines a former penal colony and Lime Bay State Reserve.

This quaint cottage is completely private and sheltered, with only a two minute stroll to the foreshore, facing directly onto Norfolk Bay.

Saltwater River, Tasmania, Australia

Saltwater river is perfectly situated on the Tasman Peninsula for you to get around and explore.

With the Premaydena General store only 15 minutes away, for essentials and fuel. ( turn off to Saltwater River )

Further down the road is Nubeena a 20 minute drive, which has a bakery, café, Bank with eftpos, hardware, chemist, Tavern and restaurant, service station, bottleshop, doctors and post office.

Major attractions and things to do:

Port Arthur Historic site a former Convict Settlement is a 35 min drive away, via a stop along the way to McHenry Distillery.
Remarkable cave is a 12 km drive south past Port Arthur. A tunnel carved through the sheer rock face by the erosion of the southern Ocean. You will also get to view the coastline as far as Cape Raoul.
The World Heritage Port Arthur Historic site is also the start and end point for Three Capes Track, along with award winning Pennicott Tasman Island Cruise.
Eaglehawk Neck is a 30 min drive, where you can view the iconic Tessellated Pavement, formed from erosion a platform of rectangular rock plates.
The Tasman Arch & Devil's Kitchen is rugged and are truly impressive works of Mother Nature and is located in Pirates Bay, along with Tasman Blow Hole.
Pirates Bay is also know as a hub for fishing. Game fishing activity is from around April. Charters can be arranged for search of the southern blue fin tuna, otherwise the jetty is known for good salmon and mackerel and on dusk calamari.
Surfing is your thing Ship Stern bluff considered the most wildest and most dangerous. Roaring Beach located on the western side of the Peninsula, near Nubeena has quite reliable surf.
Eaglehawk neck also has a dive centre, offering world class scuba diving sites such as Cathedral Cave and a historic wreck the "Nord", along with the natural underwater scenery.
The Tasmanian Devil Unzoo at Taranna if you want to view some of Tasmania's wildlife such as kangaroo's, quoll's and Tasmanian Devils.

The Tasman Peninsula has so much to offer, beaches, surf, fishing, walking, history and wildlife....You will need to stay longer.

If wanting not to venture to far, a 5 minute walk up the road takes you to the entrance way of the World Heritage Coal Mines. The convict coal mines was established three years after Port Arthur Convict Settlement. The mines operated for 40 years and their are still remnants of coal to be found along the shore.

This is a peaceful site overlooking the shallow waters of Ironstone Bay, is largely ruins, consisting of the penitentiary, underground cells and mine shafts.

Further on a popular coastal reserve of Lime Bay, where you will see an abundance of bird life, rocky sandstone bluffs and sandy beaches. Great coastal walks, swimming and fishing.

Wife and mother of twins. Happy, easy going and enjoys everything about farm life. Food lover, bee keeper, peony farmer, olive harvester, and enjoys cooking, pickling and preserving, and the odd glass of wine!
