The space
Built in 1905, this house is our labor of love. Since purchasing the house for our family we have brought new life to the property, renovating it top to bottom. The first floor apartment has been a popular Airbnb accommodation since 2017. From 2018-2019 we completely demolished the 3rd floor and built a brand new, modern one bedroom loft which we are now proud to offer you. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, so there are a few sets of stairs to climb, perfect for any travelers who may be uncomfortable staying in a first floor apartment in a new city. Locks are electronic keypad to get in both the house and apartment.

The new kitchen is equipped with a sink, electric stove, fridge, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. The living room TV is connected to Amazon Video and Netflix.

The bedroom has a memory foam queen mattress and ample storage space. There is also queen size air mattress if needed.

We are very much equipped for your business needs, and are happy to direct you to any other resources you may need in town. We are also steps from the Knight Memorial Library, a historic building being brought back to life and part of the Providence Community Library network - it is a great place to get some work done outside of the house.

Location

Providence, Rhode Island, United States

We are on a one-way residential city street with sidewalks. We are a half mile from one of the largest city parks and a historic armory. Downtown Providence is a mile away, a couple minutes down the street by car. There are so many great local restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, theaters, libraries, yoga studios and more within a 1.5 mile radius, just tell us what you are looking for!

We were asked what we meant by a "diverse" neighborhood, and thought we should share our response:

Our neighborhood is a very culturally diverse city neighborhood with residents of many nationalities. Due to this our neighborhood, the West End or "Armory District", offers delicious restaurants - Cambodian, Mexican, BBQ, French, American, Italian, Guatamalan - among others. The West End historically was a wealthy neighborhood. Then as the industrial revolution passed and industry started to die off, the money left the neighborhood and it became one of the more poor areas. In the last 10 years there has been vast improvements, lots of young families like ours moving to the West End for its affordability. Now, we are considered the "cool" part of town with so many restaurants, bars and beautifully restored homes. That said, it is still an ongoing process. There are very big developments going on just a few streets down from us, turning old run down industrial buildings into vibrant commercial spaces and lofts. It can still look gritty, so it depends on your experience with cities. 3 doors down from us is a great elementary school that President Obama visited and supported and across the street from that is a 40,000 sq foot abandoned industrial building - that is now being turned into 17 shops and restaurants. A new multi-level brewery has just opened up a few streets down from our house, along with a great gourmet doughnut bakery. A brand new beautifully designed co-op grocery store we are members of is opening up less than a mile from our house. Investment is happening at a rapid pace. However, if you are looking for wealthy, perfectly clean, and a homogenous white demographic we would recommend a home on the East Side of Providence or go to downtown Newport, RI.
