One of the oldest houses in the area, Casa Susanna is:
- A few steps away from the Monteveglio Abbey Regional Park and its stunning medieval town, with the convenience of being at the centre of a small Italian village;
- 30 min away from Bologna and Modena;
- Close to wine, balsamic and Parmigiano producers and fantastic restaurants;
- Has a lovely garden and a rustic kitchen for guests to share.

We also care about the environment, and you'll be provided with home-made natural soap.

The space
Casa Susanna is home of artists, wanderers, garden lovers, foodies and antique collectors. Our home features three rooms with windows overlooking the garden and is furnished with items that have been in Susanna's family for generations.

This room is called The Gallery, featuring local art and a 1920s sofa and wardrobe. This room used to be a kitchen, so you'll see at the centre of the room the old fireplace (not functioning today, unfortunately). The bed is comfortable and queen size. We can add an extra bed for a small fee.

The bathroom is in the hallway, shared with the guests from The Sewing Room.

There is no TV, but you can access WiFi in every room.

BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED. In the summer months, breakfast will be served in the garden.

Casa Susanna is a welcoming home for everyone. We are LGBTQ friendly, and we gladly receive anyone who is neighbourly and open-minded. You may also bring your well-behaved pets too.

Guest access
All guests can access the shared spaces:
- The garden, blooming all spring and summer (you'll probably catch Susanna in the vegetable garden, stop by and say hello!).
- The kitchen reserved to guests, where you can help yourself to tea and coffee, card games, and everything you need to prepare a small meal and store food for a short stay.
- The laundry area (extra fees apply).

Other things to note
We have a dog on the propriety, his name is Totò and he is a little white Westie. He's a bit coo coo, very friendly, but you will probably hear him from time to time as he has lots to say to the passing neighbours.
There is no TV in the rooms, but Wifi is good and available throughout the house.
The house is very old and rustic and has been refurbished using old methods, to keep the original farmhouse feel.

Our home is in the centre of a small Italian village. Steps away from cafes, restaurants, local bars, a few shops, a lovely bakery and the bus stop. Walk in the opposite direction and you'll find yourself in nature, in the stunning Monteveglio Abbey Regional Park.

The local market is on every Thursday morning, rain or shine.

We are also only a few kilometres from Savigno (the city of Truffles) and Bazzano, which offers more entertainment, from cinemas, to some amazing ice cream shops, aperitivo spots, more restaurants and a vibrant Saturday market.

If you have a car, you can easily explore the surroundings:
- The cities of Bologna and Modena;
- The Ferrari factory and museum;
- Wine producers and Balsamic vinegar producers;
- Parmiggiano Reggiano producers;
- FICO Eataly World, the world's largest agri-food park;
- Rural medieval towns, away from the crowds;
- Natural and historic parks, like Montesole and Sassi di Rocca Malatina;
- The stunning Medieval Castle of Vignola;
- In Spring, the cherry trees in bloom. In winter, the Cimone Ski Resort.

I am an actress and entrepreneur, born and raised in Italy. I spent my life traveling and exploring, finding off-the-beaten-path destinations and becoming one with the locals. Together with my mother Susanna I am co-host of a lovely AirBnB in the hills of Bologna called Casa Susanna. The B&B reflects my mom's life and personality at its fullest: artistic, surprising, eclectic and zen at its core. My husband Guido, our dog Noah and I just moved back to Italy after living in NYC for about 7 years. We are passionate backpackers and explorers of natural trails. Foodies in our core. We love to cook, chillin with friends old and new, going to the movies, work on our entrepreneurial adventures, go to the theatre and watch more movies (A LOT). It’s just so great to share experiences with people, and go for exploration walks around town. Did I mention eat? We love to eat!!
