This small inn is a great location for exploring the west coast of Izu peninsula. There is a bus stop at the door, but Nao was very kind and gave us a lift to and from Matsuzaki station which was very helpful. The room was very comfortable and the bath/ shower was shared but clean/tidy . There is also a kitchen where you can use a fridge, microwave and kettle, which is great as there are a number of convenience stores and supermarkets nearby. During our stay, Nao went out of his way to help us with planning travel and offering lifts within the local area. Recommended!

Nao our host has to be the most humble, kindest, friendliest and most accommodating host we've ever experienced. He made Matzusaki (Izu) the most enjoyable and we have in return made a great friend. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable with all basic amenities provided. We chose to walk 5 mins down the road to the local supermarket and bought groceries and used the kitchen to make some of our meals. If you walk 5-10 mins behind the path of the house, there is a delicious soba and unagi restaurant as well. And the public foot bath behind the guesthouse is really convenient and peaceful. Thank you Nao for your hospitality.

Nai-san was so welcoming. He took the time to show my husband and I around his town - to a lovely lookout over Matsuzaki, to a lovely old ryokan that was over 300 years old and to an onsen by the river. Nap-san also leant us snorkeling gear, drove us to the beach and recommended some lovely restaurants. He was so kind - the most helpful host we have ever experienced on Airbnb.

Don't know where to start. He picked us up and drove us to his place which was a 40 min ride. During the ride he showed us famous view spots. He felt like a private guide. He asked us in advance if we would like to stay at his private house cause the guesthouse had a lot of visitors due to high pressure. We were happy to his suggestion and he gave us a lot of tips and gladly drove us into town to enjoy the festival. The local people in Matsuzaki welcomed us with open arms and friendly spirit, we had a lot of fun. The day we left he even drove us to our next stop Dougashima. Amazing host with a big heart and lovely spirit. We recommend both the city of Matsuzaki and staying with Nao san!

Nao is a very thoughtful and gracious host. He was in touch with us ahead of time to tell us of some changes to our reservation which we agreed to. Because we were bicycle touring he called us in the late afternoon to make sure we were OK. We had a lovely evening out for dinner with him and his wife. The next morning he offered to give us a ride over one of the particularly challenging mountain passes because he was headed that way. . He was very gracious and kind.

We spent a night at Nao's. The room was pleasant, and so was the small footbath nextdoor. Nao was very nice, for he recommended us a really good restaurant, open at night, at less than 5 mins walk from his home. In the morning he drove us to Dougashima and we had a nice chat even though we only spoke a broken Japanese.
