Welcome to the Hatchery House! From 1939 until 1965 this building was an important part of the Harmonson Hatchery where 65,000 baby chicks were shipped out every 21 days in the spring to homes all across America. Now you can relax and enjoy the peace of the farm while great shopping and excellent food are minutes away or you can pick up your own supplies and cook in the vintage kitchen. If you are a coffee lover - our coffee bar is ready for you. Come and enjoy, bring your children to play.

The space
This great little cottage is designed for the business traveler, couples or small families (little children welcome).

A very comfortable king bed with feather topper and soft linens is upstairs as well as a trundle bed. The sleeping area upstairs has a curtain that can separate it into two areas or it can be left open. Tucked back from the main houses, you have complete privacy, even a deck and small yard just for you.

In the fully stocked kitchen, experience the original metal kitchen cabinets from 1939 as well as new amenities such as the insta-pot, smoothie blender, coffee bar complete with cool brew, expresso, french press and drip coffee pot, organic beans and grinder, stove and fridge. There are great grocery stores close by but if you like to eat out the Unique Dining Capital of Texas (Roanoke, Tx) is just a few miles up the road as well as the excellent restaurants in Keller.

Both levels are heated and cooled by ductless, mini-split units. A vortex fan and space heater are also available for your comfort.

The full bath is stocked with soaps, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, lotions, etc and a clothes steamer.

Also available is a portable crib and high chair.

In the living area is a wall mounted 52" smart TV and free wifi is available for your use.

Where you’ll be

Keller, Texas, United States

Keller has all the classic eating places as well great parks/playgrounds for children. Summer Moon Coffee along with their breakfast tacos is a great place and Shannon Brewery (within walking distance) is also worth touring. Juice Junky, in the Keller Town Center, is a favorite and new places are going in constantly. Catch a movie close by at Movies and Eatery or just sit outside and enjoy the night sky and quiet of the country.

During your stay

We are available should you need something or just have questions. We would love to meet you, but we respect your privacy as well and will not disturb you.

Please note that this home is completely shoe free inside. We do provide shoe covers for you if you just can't "bear to go bare" :) We care about your comfort and strive to keep as many toxins and as much dirt out as possible so you can be at peace knowing you are in a place that is as clean as can be! We also want you to feel comfortable letting your small children crawl on the floor.

This booking is completely private. It includes the two sleeping areas, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dinette, living room and outside deck with patio furniture and fire pit. You have private access to the entire cottage. Outside areas that are not available to guest roaming will be marked by signs.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: Please be aware of our teddybear like guard dog, Zev. He helps guard the cows at night and keeps wildlife away from our homes. He loves people and children and is extremely laid back (but please don't let your children climb on his back) You may hear him occasionally barking - we have provided a sound machine should you wish to drown out any potential of hearing him.
