Valley view

Guests say the views are breathtaking.
This is more than a regular Airbnb stay - this is a glamping experience (with heated tents and campfires during winter!) Nestled in the stunning Adelaide Hills, a few min drive from the famous German village of Hahndorf, it's all about glamour and romance, with stunning views of the landscape. Weather permitting we also offer an outdoor star gazing bed, a table to watch the sunset. Our beautiful tent is the perfect base to visit, Adelaide, the fabulous Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale wineries.

The space
Set on a 42 acre farm (we live in the main residence) our bells tents are furnished to a high standard with new queen beds, luxurious cotton sheets, carpets, rugs, and of course fairy lights.
Sit out under the stars, or even better (weather permitting) lie out on your very own star gazing bed. Watch out for our resident koalas who visit every few days, the shy echidna who casually wanders across the field (he's a bit hard to spot!) and of course the kangaroos, possums and kookaburras who like to come out at dusk and dawn. Sunsets are often spectacular, so relax and sit out with a glass of wine at our sunset table with sweeping views across the land.
Please don't expect manicured lawns and gardens - this is a working farm (most of our animals are rescued or for cuddling). A great chance to experience nature but still be close to the city. We have a nice, clean camping toilet or you are welcome to use our very Australian outback dunny or home toilet and bathroom if you prefer. Tents are completely waterproof, well ventilated and we provide you with a BBQ, all your cooking utensils and outdoor eating areas. There is also a fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities (located in the old barn).
If you require a second tent please let us know and if you booking this as a surprise please let us know if you need help with planning.

Guest access
Farm fields (without animals). Beautiful walks around the area.

Other things to note
We have a large dam that you are welcome to fish on (from the bank) just not sure what you'll catch as I don't fish - but used to have lots of fish!

Neighbourhood highlights

We are just over a 20 min drive from the bottom of the freeway, set in stunning scenery of the Adelaide Hills. The famous German village of Hahndorf is a 10 minute drive - it's a great place to order German beer (or Australian), eat some German food, visit a gin distillery or a relax at a winery.

Other things to do:
Partial to a glass of wine? Adelaide Hills has dozens of wineries and cellar doors - many with great places to eat. We can help you plan your winery visits to nearby wineries and when you're done, McLaren Vale is not that far either!

A short drive away and you'll find yourself at Mt Barker Summit, Kuitpo Forrest, Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens or Mt Lofty Summit - all very beautiful places for a walk and picnic.

If you like to walk/hike/stroll - there are a number of trails runs nearby including the Kidman and Heysen trails (App Alltrails is helpful if you're planning a bush walk).
If you like animals Warrawong Wildlife Sancutary is 10 min away if you wanted to have a koala experience or see some native Australian creatures and Monarto Zoo is less than half an hour away (if you go up that way - don't forget to check out Mannum Falls).

Mt Barker Farmer's market (with live music) is on every Saturday morning and a great place for food.

Stirling Village has great cafes, chocolate and ice cream shops. The Bridgewater Inn has a lovely beer garden by the river.

A little further afield:
The gorgeous beaches of Adelaide are about 40 minutes away.
Victor Harbour is less than an hour away.

Adelaide city is an easy bus ride from Hahndorf (we can often drop you at bus terminal if you don't have a car)

So much to do!

Meet your hosts

Lives in Adelaide, Australia
We are a family who love love love to travel and meet different people. Just before Covid struck we spent two years visiting 28 + countries around the world - but then it was time to settle down and get the children back to school. For much of our travelling time we camped, for the other times we stayed in Airbnb accommodation - so when it comes to camping but more importantly glamping, we understand what it takes to make your stay uniquely special. Camping doesn't have to be hard work when you glamp! So let us do all the hard work for you, so you can just walk into your 'eco hotel room in a tent'. We are also passionate about the environment and are making changes every month to become a more environmentally aware family. So if you want to relax and enjoy nature in our 40 plus acre farm, we would love to welcome you!
