Our house is a beautiful, modern, solar passive house set on a 5 acre property with amazing views to the north of the Margaret River Valley and Naturaliste National Park. The name means Beautiful View. It is an incredible house to stay in, our guests are in awe of the simplicity of the design, the house itself and the beautiful setting. A few minutes drive to the beach and about 7 minutes into the township of Margaret River. SHIRE approval #P219627 Come and treat yourself to a winter escape.

The space
This contemporary home will suit both couples, families and groups of up to 6. Originally designed for 2 families, there are two queen bedrooms in the western wing of the house. The eastern wing has 1 bunk room and a 4th bedroom which has a queen bed and a double bunk. The east wing bathroom has double shower and vanity. West end has double vanity and shower over bath. All beds have been made up with electric blankets for a snuggly nights sleep.

Kanangra is an ideal playground for kids, we offer both table tennis and a basketball hoop. The hot-mix driveway is ideal for skateboarding and roller skating. The sheer size of the property allows for many hours of imaginative play and exploring.

Bbq's are an integral part of a stay in Margaret River and we have a brand new family sized gas Weber bbq for you to use...

We do welcome dogs but ask that they are not allowed on the beds. Please also dry them down before bringing them inside. It is preferable that they go out with you however if they will remain calm they can be left inside. Any noise from whining dogs may potentially affect surrounding properties.

In summer, the pitch of the roof shields the house from the fierce sun and windows at each end allow the afternoon sea-breeze to circulate through the house. In winter the sun shines directly onto the polished concrete floors which absorb the heat to reduce the need for heating. We have recently put a roof onto the alfresco area to provide more protection from both the sun and rain. There is a large combustion fire in the living area and some firewood is supplied May to mid October. Spacious, clean, comfortable, well
equipped, brilliant location, bird and kangaroo haven, light bright, modern.
This place needs to be seen to be believed!!! The photos look great but the place itself is amazing!!!!
Here's what a recent guest said “Thank you for being a great host. We had a wonderful time. The house is amazing. 2 minutes to beach. 7 minutes to Margaret River. I saw kangaroos, the milky way so clear like never before and we could hear the ocean. The view into the valley and the forest is breathtaking. The living room and kitchen are to die for. No joke. The place is awesome".

Guest access
Access to all areas of the house. Owners have possessions in 2 locked cupboards.

Other things to note
STRICTLY no outdoor fires.
Initial price of house is for 4 guests, additional guests $50 per night. Please kindly ensure you have clearly and accurately entered the number of guests.
Kindly wash sand from feet before coming inside.
Kanangra is one of the busiest holiday houses in the area. To ensure a high level of cleanliness we are generally unable to offer either variations to our check in or check out times, please don't be offended , if we're in a position to offer early or late we will certainly let you know.
Hot water is through solar panels. Use booster switch in laundry on cloudy days. I would press it late evening to ensure hot water for the morning and again in the morning.
RED and GREEN bin are emptied every Monday very very early, please roll up on Sunday night to the verge.. YELLOW bin fortnightly.
Please clean the BBQ thoroughly including tray.
Firewood is supplied May-mid October.
Kindly strip linen on departure but NOT doona covers.
Dogs welcome but please note that there is no full enclosure for dogs. If you could let me know if you are bringing a dog that would be great.
Be aware that in a rural setting it is possible that you may see a snake over the warmer months. As long as they are not cornered they will simply continue on their path.

Neighbourhood highlights

The property is located on probably one of the most desirable streets in Margaret River, with many having river frontage or sea views...definitely worth taking a walk around the area to see some fine architecture and views. You can access the river by the long drive to the west of the property, however there's no real river frontage, it's quite swampy...best access to the river is down at the rivermouth. The properties are all around 8 acres so there's plenty of space between neighbours creating a real country feel and makes for a wonderfully quiet environment....all the better for you to be able to sit back and enjoy the view from the northern deck. I don't recall seeing such a diverse array of birdlife on one property - everything from the little shrub birds like the fairy wrens and New Holland honeyeaters through to a friendly family of magpies who come down to say hi and also plenty of larger birds such as pink and grey galahs and black cockatoos. Very little fencing in the area also enables kangaroos to travel freely - you'll likely be visited by roos in the evening and early morning- don't be surprised to find them on the lawn.
