We offer a unique farmstay experience, hosting guests in a fully furnished upstairs apartment over an alpaca barn. In addition to our huacaya alpaca herd, you will encounter Willow (our horse boarder), dairy goats, chickens, ducks and a barn cat as well as wildlife sightings of deer, turkey, and maybe even elk or a black bear! Our goal is to provide you an off-the-grid, slow-down and relax experience while you explore the wonders of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

The space
No internet, TV or cell phone service - this is your time to decompress! Roosters don't always sleep at night! In addition to farm noises, some farm smells are to be expected. The apartment does not have air conditioning, but two large ceiling fans, a wind machine fan, and windows that open. If our schedules allow we enjoy showing you around the farm, walking an alpaca, visit our apple orchard, vegetable garden, beehives... Guests have raved over their star-watching experiences from the deck, comparable to their Dark Skies experience at Cherry Springs State Park. With advance notice bicycles are available for rental @ $10/day for use on the adjacent West Creek Rails to Trails.

Location

Emporium, Pennsylvania, United States

We live on 34 acres, 7 miles from the nearest town in a very rural part of northcentral Pennsylvania along the West Creek Rails to Trails and the headwaters of the Susquehanna River. Generally quiet neighborhood with some rifle target practice or mowing noises.

When I was a kid I would get incredibly homesick when staying away from home. I transitioned from homesick kid at Girl Scout camp to world traveler in my late teens. Girl Scouts taught me how to be prepared and enjoy the journey as well as the courage to meet new people, try new foods, experiences and challenges. Year's of accumulated life experiences led to my current status, living on a 34 acre alpaca farm, perfecting my handcraft skills, being a grandma to 3 and opening the AirBNB Farm Stay! I've had the pleasure of staying at AirBNB's in Germany, North Carolina and here in Pennsylvania. I love the idea of visiting new places, meeting new people and continuing life's journey. Our farm features huacaya alpacas, chickens, and most recently we are boarding a horse! I enjoy gardening and canning the harvest bounty. I guess you'd call me a homesteader. Still on my travel bucket list is Macchu Pichu.
