Location
Anjuna, Goa, India
Goa gets very warm during the Summer (April to June). Those who are brave enough to come during this time, will have to face the heat but also be rewarded with the best mangoes in the world and urrak, a seasonal local drink made from cashew fruits, only available at this time of year.
Things get very quiet here during the Monsoons (July to September). You'll still find some action in Baga and Calangute, but the sea gets too rough to swim and most shops and restaurants are closed. However, if you are the kind to enjoy Goa in all it's green serenity, this is the perfect time for you.
Goa is most active during the Post-Monsoon (October to December) and Winter (January to March) seasons. This is the time of festivals, parties and markets. It is also the best time to swim at the beaches, as the days are cool and the sea is calm.
We're a short walk away from Anjuna beach and it's famous Wednesday Flea Market which was started by the hippies in Goa during the '60s. There's also a weekly Friday market at Hill Top and a Saturday market at Ingo's, which are about ~15 minutes away by bike/taxi.
In this area, you'll be spoilt for choice. You'll find a bit of everything, from good restaurants (Basilico, Goa's Ark, German Bakery) to unique shops (Anna Lou, Artjuna, EcoPosro), famous night clubs (Curlie's, Shiva Valley, Nyex), to yoga classes by famous teachers (Yoga Bones, Brahmani Yoga Centre, Gratitude Cafe).
We also have a couple of supermarkets nearby, that can provide you everything from wine to sunscreen to yoga mats.
