This cozy cabin is located in the heart of the Red River Gorge. The front “lawn” is made of moss and ferns, you can hear the streams trickling from the porch, and there are large leaf magnolias and hemlocks surrounding the house. I am a yoga teacher, so there are yoga books, incense, as well as various nature altars to support your practice. No internet or phone service gives your whole system the chance to unwind from the electromagnetic frequencies of “modern life”.

The space
The cabin has two bedrooms. One has a king sized bed. The other has a double bed. There is also a single folding mattress on the floor the living/dining room that doubles as seating during the day. There is a small kitchen with all appliances, and a full bathroom. We have a french press for making coffee and a plug in tea kettle for hot water.

The water for the cabin comes from a nearby spring and has not been tested for potability. So it's best to bring your own water for drinking.

Guest access
Wrap around porch, fire pit, creeks bordering the property, kitchen, eating area, living room, bathroom and both bedrooms. Also feel free to walk the several miles of beautiful gravel roads in the neighborhood; they double as “walking trails” since there is very little vehicular traffic.

Other things to note
The road to the cabin has become quite rough. I used to drive it all the time in my Prius, but it’s definitely hard on my car. There are currently big potholes and grooves in the hill approaching my house. A four wheel drive or car with high ground clearance is definitely helpful but it can be accessed in a regular car.

I do allow dogs for a $15 per day extra cleaning fee (capped at $45), payable via cash, check or paypal. Dogs do track in more dirt (mostly hemlock needles) from the surrounding enchanted forest. :) Please clean up all poop... that is not included in the cleaning fee.

There is no internet or phone service at the cabin, although texts go through about 40% of the time if you have Verizon as your carrier.

My cabin is in the middle of the Red River Gorge climbing and outdoor recreational area. It’s located in Peaceful Valley Resort, which has a lovely network of gravel roads (leading to other private cabins) for walking to enjoy the outdoors. The most noticeable sound at my place is the sound of the two creeks that border the property, right off the wrap around deck. For rock climbers, my cabin is less than 10 minutes from the Coal Bank Hollow parking area, and about 15 minutes from the PMRP, 15 minutes to Muir Valley.

During your stay
I am available via text, phone or email, however if you are at the cabin, you will need to either drive back to the top of the hill on the paved road to get internet. Another option for communication is walking to a friend’s nearby cabin where Verizon customers can get service.
