Where you’ll be

Heber City, Utah, United States

Heber Valley still has a small town feel, but is just a quick drive to everything you could possibly want. We are nestled in a more private, quiet area, but still close to everything. There are two reservoirs within a 10 or 20 minute drive for kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing or other water sports. It is fun to watch the wind surfers as well. The surrounding mountains have countless trails for hiking, biking, motor sports, and some of the best skiing, cross country and down hill, as well as tubing. The Provo River is renowned for its fly fishing and is just a short walk away. The river is great for tubing and kayaking below the dam. Park City and Utah County are a quick 35 minute drive on some of the most beautiful scenic drives in the state of Utah. Salt Lake is an hour away with unlimited activities and dining. There is a wonderful variety of restaurants in Heber Valley if you want to stay in town, and a ride on the historic train is always fun... especially since it runs within viewing distance of our home. If you are looking for somewhere to sit back and enjoy the rugged beauty of Utah's mountains with quick access to city life... this truly is the perfect place!
Want more info...
You may enjoy the front yard at any time which has a porch swing and also a sitting bench under the pine trees. We are blessed with a Great Horned Owl as a resident in the tall pine tree closest to the home. He comes out at dusk and hoots for a short time before flying off to the river bottoms to find his dinner. We have befriended him and are able to hoot back and forth with him when he is in the right mood...go ahead and try it! It is so amazing to have a conversation with him, but please be respectful... we want him as a permanent resident.

The Provo River bottoms are a quick 5 minute walk away with deer, fox, osprey in the summer, bald eagles in the winter, red tailed hawks and more. You can easily walk to the Provo River Bottoms by crossing our country lane and walking next to the fence between the field and small home on the right until you reach the rail road tracks. Watch for the train, but go ahead and follow them west to the train trestle which bridges the Provo River... this area of the river has some of the best fly fishing, and many guides teach along this section. The river bottoms provide the opportunity to see many different kinds of wildlife. There are ducks, geese, swans, blue herons, pelicans, red winged black birds and more. You can cross the trestle and a short walk farther brings you to Spring Creek where you can watch the muskrats swimming in the water and it is often buzzing with swallows at the right time of year. You can fish here as well.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk a little farther, cross the road, and the tracks will lead to a trail along the backside of Deer Creek Reservoir. At this point it officially becomes a hike, not a walk. That trail is also perfect for mountain biking.
We hope you love your stay with us in beautiful Heber Valley!
