Situated on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania 500 metres above sea level overlooking the coastal towns of Falmouth, Scamander, with St Helens in the distance, is Seaview Farm. This magnificent setting has ocean & mountain views and two acres of landscaped garden, is also a working farm producing chemical free beef, lamb and blueberries. Rustic, comfortable and tranquil. Perfect place to disconnect - bush walking, bird watching, nearby rock climbing or reading by the fire with good company.

The space
The drive up the hill to Seaview through bush is rewarded by suddenly coming to the expansive view of the East Coast. High up on a small plateau with lush green fields it is like coming into another world where you are likely to experience a state of relaxation. This, on a sunny, still day, is a paradise - especially in the beautiful gardens. But even in rain and wind there is an escape to cosy wood fires and in the warmth one can still gaze at the magnificent views.

Where you’ll be

St Marys, Tasmania, Australia

We live in a small rural community eight kms from the small village of St Marys. Our farm, of 300 acres and the neighbouring farm of approx. 150 acres makes up the cleared land that constitutes German Town. Here are four permanent residences and two part time.
Guests can experience farm life as well as the surrounding bush and walk to a spectacular South Sister lookout with 360 degree view. Guests from Singapore, Hong Kong and other places where they do not need a fire for warmth, can also have the exotic experience of lighting a fire and sitting by its glow..
St Marys is a quaint old village and has many attractions as does the whole of the Fingal Valley. Further afield for day trips guests can experience the Freycinet and Douglas Apsley National Parks, Bay of Fires, Pyengana Cheese Factory where cows milk themselves and the St Columba falls, among many other attractions.

We live on a chemical free farm producing top quality blueberries, beef and lamb. I have two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens featured in articles appearing in the Tas Weekend and Australian magazines. We are surrounded by the most spectacular views of ocean, rolling timber covered hills and mountains. Lots of walks in the area - one of which takes the visitor to the platypus dam. These assets combined with the rustic and quirky, albeit comfortable and warm, accommodation make for an ideal place of relaxation, meditation and an opportunity to digital detox. Wifi is limited. If you are not connected to Telstra so is mobile coverage. But if reading a good book by the fire, enjoying a quiet roam around the tranquil garden or further afield for a good bush walk or simply sitting and taking in the magnificent views walk all appeal to you then we are more than happy to show you around and to make your visit enjoyable.
