In the heart of Fish Creek, above our bustling Hat Head shop, enjoy your stay in our newly remodeled second story studio loft. Complete with studio bedroom, bath, kitchen with new appliances, sitting room, and private balcony deck. Enjoy walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants, Peninsula State Park, and more. Close to the action, yet a great hideaway for privacy and relaxation. Bright and cheery, modern, simply stated, and clean. For adult single or couple. (Sorry no pets or kids).

The space
To make sure this is the right fit for you, please note we have a few restrictions:
No Pets
No Kids
No more than 2 adults who share a bed (we do not have a sofa or sleeping arrangements for two individuals not sharing a bed)
No Smoking (inside, on the deck, or on premise)
No Grilling (on the deck or on premise)

Please know that this is above a busy retail shop that is open every day from 9-8. You may hear a bit of noise from below during operating hours, but nothing abnormal or earth-shattering. Also, my husband and I are often at work before and after hours, but are quiet and considerate.

This is a studio apartment, meaning it is an open layout where the bedroom does not have a private door. The bed is next to a window facing the main drag in Fish Creek. With your windows open, you will hear noise from the street below, but it is loudest and busiest during the daytime hours.

This is on a second floor with a private outdoor entrance and private parking. You must be able to climb stairs. The outdoor deck faces a newly paved and landscaped parking lot owned by the Town of Gibraltar, for boat trailers and general parking.

We have an eclectic, oddly shaped bathroom, long and narrow, which lends to a small stand-up shower. It may be a tight squeeze for very tall or very large people.

Our kitchen includes a full-sized fridge/ freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, filtered water system, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. We are stocked with pots, pans, knives, utensils, dishes, glassware, etc. The only big thing we're missing is an oven. We also have limited counter space.

We have a small but mighty wall-mounted air conditioning unit that keeps the place nice and cool on the few hot days we have in Door County. There are lots of windows that all open up, and on cooler days, you get great breezes and cross ventilation throughout the loft.

We are practicing all suggested guidelines for our business, and doing the same for this apartment. We are taking extra care to sanitize the place and have it super clean and safe for your stay.

This building has been in my husband's family for 35 years. Over the summers, we have lived in this apartment as have long-term renters. We affectionately called it the "treehouse" because it was our little breezy, lofted sanctuary. We just fixed it up with brand new everything and it is our first time renting as an AirBnB. We're excited to share our space with you and hope you enjoy staying here as much as we did. -- Bonnie and Bob

Guest access
There is a private back entrance with stairs that lead to your private deck. There are three parking spots below the deck - yours to choose one. There is also a nearby back parking lot for visitors (or incase the other three happen to be full).

Other things to note
On 7/30/20 Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a state mandate requiring face coverings indoors and in enclosed spaces, with some exceptions. You will be expected to wear a mask when entering stores, restaurants and bars, and any other businesses.

Most businesses are open most days. Some shops and restaurants close 1-2 days during the week because of staffing issues. Many restaurants/ bars have reduced or eliminated their indoor dining, but offer outdoor dining when available. Almost all offer carry-out. Please know that this is a fluctuating situation based on individual business issues and staffing concerns. Door County is welcoming visitors, but asking everyone to wear masks.
