Location

St Ives, Cornwall, United Kingdom

From the property, In one direction is the town, with its cobbled streets, various restaurants, pubs and shops and beaches. (Please ask us about the best places to visit during your stay). To the other-side is access to the coastal path providing beautiful clifftop walking and sea views.

There are a number of walks in either directly down to Porthmeor Beach (Approx. 7 mins) or to the centre of town (Approx. 8 mins). Alternatively you can choose the longer walk to the moors taking the coast path, past “Man’s Head” to Porthmeor or if you are a serious walker then the little village of Zennor with the lovely (Tinners) pub approx. 5 miles away as the crow flies by the coast path.

As well as a number of Galleries and great restaurants, St Ives boasts a total of 6 beaches to choose from:

Porthmeor: provides a beautiful beach and some of the larger waves for keen surfers.

Porthgwiddon: is a more sheltered beach by St Ives Island. Calmer than Porthmeor

Bamaluz – Designated Doggy beach and the name of the local sea shanty singers (Bamaluz Bootleggers) often to be seen around town or in the local Castle, Pilchard Press or Sloop pubs of a Thursday night).

The Harbour – This is a bustling working harbour with local shops and restaurants.

Porthminster – More of a Mediterranean style with gently sloping beach and in my view one of the best restaurants in town.

Carbis Bay – Again Mediterranean feel with its own Hotel and Beach.

Some 5 years ago we bought a holiday let in St Ives and decided to stay their ourselves for a couple of weeks holiday. We liked it so much we didn’t go home. The beaches, cafes, people were all so much fun that we bought a home and settled here. We joined a shanty singing group called the Bamaluz bootleggers and can often be found singing in the local pubs or on the harbour. St ives is a great place to be as their is always something going on here and 5 beaches is plenty to give a variety of experiences. We hope you love it as much as we do.
