The space

The David Stewart Farm is located in historic Gettysburg, PA. The farmhouse & barn were used as a civil war field hospital immediately after the Battle of Gettysburg.
Located 4 miles from the center of town, it's an easy drive to the battlefields, local attractions and local restraurants. Baltimore is about 1 hour away and Washington, DC is 1 1/2 hours.

You will be staying in a large sunny room with a queen-size bed and have your own private bathroom (shower, no tub). There is a second smaller bedroom (with 2 twin beds) that can be used if you have 3 or 4 people in your group.
The kitchen and family room will be shared with me and my pets - currently 1 large dogs and 6 cats. They do have the run of the house so if you do not like pets or are allergic to or afraid of animals, this is probably not the best place for you. (There are many other great Airbnb places to stay in Gettysburg that are pet free.)
There is a large deck and big backyard (100 acres) for you to hang out if the weather permits. WiFi is available.
I will be your only "living" host, but there are many others who reside with me. They have lived at the farm for many many years, some for hundreds of years. Yes, the house is haunted, but they are all friendly! I have been here for 36 years and have lots of interesting stories that I'd be happy to share with you if you are interested.

I own a fitness center so as my guest you will have a free pass to workout while staying with me.

This farmhouse was perfect! Stephani is a helpful, friendly host who made us feel like family. She even helped us out with an extra night that we needed because of a snowstorm. The house is easy to find, a short drive to the main streets of Gettysburg. It was also perfect for …

Our stay with Stefani was wonderful. The place was spotlessly clean, full of history as a Civil War hospital, extremely quiet, highly comfortable, the location was near the Gettysburg Battleground and the town. Plus Stefani herself is a delightful person, very welcoming, friendly…

What a great place, just as described. Steph was very helpful and gave us some audio CD's of the area and told us some great stories of the history of the house. If you coming to this area and history is your thing then flag the 'hotels' and do yourself a favor and come stay here…

Although we only had one night at Stephani's home, we really enjoyed it. Stephani is a delightful gracious host and her home is most comfortable and conveniently located to both the town of Gettysburg and the historic sights> Her family of animals were a joy

No place could have been better to stay while in Gettysburg taking in the battle and Civil War History, than Stephani's haunted Farmhouse, that was formerly a Confederate hospital on their line of retreat. Stephani and her delightful pets were very welcoming and great hosts. Easy…

Getting around

Gettysburg is a small rural community and as such there is no real public transportation. (There is a trolley in town that has limited scheduled stops.) My farm is located 4 miles from town so you wi…
