Ever wondered what it feels like to live off-grid? To grow and eat organic food? To be wifi free? The Crossing Land is an environment education centre and sustainable site for families, groups, couples or individuals to holiday and connect in. We have river access , permaculture gardens, solar power, rainwater tanks, chickens, sheep, composting toilets, wood stove, outdoor campfire, cosy private bedrooms and train carriage bunk rooms for the more adventurous. Participation on site encouraged.

The space
Bedroom #2: has one double bed. There is an additional single bed in the room also, accommodating a total of 3 guests comfortably.

The room is a darker summer room, with West facing windows shaded by the Community Hall. Situated next to Bedroom #1, it is great as a family booking for teens allowing them to sleep a bit longer than they might otherwise, while the adults enjoy the north east aspects and views in Bedroom #1. Both rooms have access to the north facing verandah.

Also consider our Bedroom #3 and #4: which are booked under the one booking. They have a single access door, with private room doors which allows you to attend easily to younger children in the night. Bedroom #3 has two single beds in bunk configuration. Bedroom #4 has one double bed. This setup is also perfect for family bookings. Direct access to East facing verandah is a great bonus.

Please note that we have length of stay discounts: 5% for 3 nights, 8% for 4 nights, 10% for 5 nights, 12% for 6 nights and 15% for 7 nights.

Guest access
Guests will be able to access the common kitchen, Community hall lounge area and bathrooms, and are encouraged to spend time in our lush permaculture gardens and native surrounds.

Other things to note
We aren't connected to wifi, but a few areas of our site pick up Telstra reception. We are keen to welcome people who can feel at home in our space but who can act with care to our low impact systems, such as being conscious of power and water usage and using chemical free products. Also we are a pet free site with a signed Conservation Agreement to protect our abundant native wildlife.

I am an outdoor educator and permaculture designer. Over the last 25 years I've hosted journeys and experiences that help people, especially young people, to live more sustainably. My wife and I co-founded The Crossing Land Environment Education Centre in 1998 and it is fantastic to now have families stay here as Airbnb guests to experience sustainable living.
