High Bentham, England, United Kingdom

We live about 1/2 mile outside the village (12 minute walk) and there is a working farm at the entrance to our lane, we no longer farm our properties but rent the land to a farmer, so we have cows in the fields, and many rabbits and birds nesting, including our hens and cockerel. There are several pubs and small restaurants within walking distance and 2 supermarkets, a chemist and a post office together with a few other shops.
A golf club and play grounds are also in the village.

I live here in Bentham with my husband Richard an Art Restorer who started his life in Switzerland, he speaks several languages! However, I was born next door, but like to think that I have travelled widely....I have 4 grown-up sons and I have 6 grandchildren. In the early days I was a ceramic artist and sold my creations throughout England and exported to America. I have always been interested in Art and Architecture and when my last son left home the opportunity arose to convert our barn into a purpose built B&B. It has been a wonderful journey, albeit stressful, especially for Richard! When the boys were small we always had their friends to (Website hidden by Airbnb) we are very used to entertaining. Both my husband and I are keen travellers and enjoy sampling interesting food which I love to try to recreate. We have our own hens that provide us with fabulous eggs and moments of hilarity. It is very important for us to use organic and locally sourced produce. I have a varied herb garden and we are hoping to complete our own vegetable garden next year. I like to do yoga and I have an interest in complementary therapies. My most favourite places are Bali and Thailand, but Kefalonia is our regular haunt. Richard plays Spanish guitar and bass, and you can often hear him play locally in one of his bands. You may even get him to play you a tune! We love the outdoors and any opportunity we have we like to explore the countryside nearby. Our biggest love of all is meeting new people and hearing their stories.......
