Description

The space

We have combined our shared passion for breathing new life into discarded and vintage finds as well as our love of entertaining to create unique little getaways in the shape of retro caravans! Our retro orange 1978 Viscount, sits in the valley and is tucked away from the rest of the world. Decked out in original finds from the 70's and items inspired by the decade we grew up in - from Australia & France!
The van is equipped with the basic necessities to enjoy a relaxing escape from the city and the rest of the world if you choose to. There is a choice of indoor (gas) cooking and a BBQ out on the deck, bar fridge, cooking utensils and basic condiments are supplied - fossick in the cupboards for some more relics from the 70's to set your own scene.
The van has a cosy double bed (with electric blanket) and the table will fold down to make another (slightly smaller) double bed. We have had plenty of couples sharing the space comfortably however, please keep in mind this is a small area. All sheets, blankets and pillows and basic bath towels are supplied,
Above the van is a cleared site suitable for a few tents, so if you want to bring along a group of friends there's plenty of room!
A few metres away nestled in the trees with views of the valley is our bush toilet (long drop) and shower with a view. Made completely from recycled materials and footpath finds, you will only be sharing these facilities with the birds.
An abundance of wild life, birds and untouched landscape will be yours to enjoy during your stay. Sit quietly on the deck and listen for the various sounds from the shy, rarely sighted Lyrebird or catch a wallaby grazing at sunset.

Guest access

120 acres of Australian bush, temperate rainforest, farmland and a tropical oasis in the gully.
The 'Big Shed' on top of the hill has a wood fire, sofas, pool table & camp kitchen...a great space to hang out alone or with a few extra friends.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to meet and greet you, explain the layout of the property. After showing you to the van you can shut out the rest of the world and relax in the abundance of nature surrounding you. If you feel like a bit of other human interaction, come and join us and any other campers around in the 'big shed', another great spot for an outside bonfire or cosy up inside by the copper fire place.

The neighbourhood

Wild Valley Gippsland is set on over 120 acres of undulating land that is part rain forest, bush land and cleared farmland with postcard views. Surrounded by the Strzelecki Ranges and the Tarra Bulga & Morwell National Parks in South West Gippsland, Victoria.
There are plenty of sights and attractions in the area. Bush walking, fishing, bird watching, water falls or simply relaxing by a campfire are all a part of the enjoyment in this unique slice of Victoria.

Getting around

If you are travelling without a vehicle, take the Vline train from Southern Cross for a beautiful 2 hour ride and we can arrange, for a small fee, to pick you up from Morwell station.

Other things to note

The access to the van is via a steep hill with approximately 30 steps...your car will be parked at the top of the hill so please keep this in mind when packing for your stay!
Stay cosy and warm in the cooler months as the van has a small heater and electric blanket on the main bed.

The idyllic holiday for Me time away from daily monotony! I'd highly recommend solo traveling as I did :) Also would be so much fun in a big group! Location is truly a wild valley and you get transported back to the 70's with intricate details giving you the vibe :) Host's have been so welcoming and friendly, couldn't have asked for a better experience. And meet Lilly, the white Alpaca along with Manuela and others. Feed apples to the Horse and ponies :) Take an experience of a lifetime if you haven't done something like this before!

Wonderful getaway. Samantha and Eric were very prompt with our booking and super helpful in getting us to property without getting lost. Outdoor shower and toliet were great. The dam at the bottom, was a perfect place to cool off each afternoon. Hopefully we can come back again. Thank you again for sharing your property.

Samantha&Eric User ProfileSamantha&Eric is a superhost.

We are a creative couple who love to meet new people and share stories of our travels and life in this part of the World. Eric, a landscape gardener originally from Paris, found this beautiful property 20 years ago to plant his 1000 olive trees...a few remain on top of the hill! I am a fashion/interior/home wares designer with a passion for recycling, salvaging and giving old things new life.
