The Galveston House is located on the trendy and popular west side of Bend, in the heart of the Galveston District. It is within strolling distance of area hot-spots like 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Victorian Café, Phil’s Growlers, Ariana, Paradise Produce Stand, and The Lot---a great Food-Cart court with outdoor dining. The Galveston House uses solar power and was designed with green efficiency in mind. We have used wonderful re-claimed, one-of-a-kind items to make this home warm and welcoming.

The space
This unique three bedroom, two bathroom vacation home can sleep up to six people. The main bedroom has a king bed, and the two other bedrooms each have a queen bed. The house features a great open main living space perfect for gathering, newly remodeled fully stocked kitchen, free wifi, full sized washer and dryer, ductless AC unit in the main living room area, private attached garage, and cute fenced yard with a private HOT TUB as well so you can enjoy an evening soak at the end of your Central Oregon day. There is outdoor seating for six on the back deck, propane BBQ, and in the summer months we even have two vintage bikes for guests use. The central location provides great access to the west side amenities including Drake Park along the Deschutes River.

Guest access
Nearby you will find great bike shops, recreational outfitters, and fabulous local-favorite juice bars within two blocks. Jump right onto your bike and in less than 2 miles you are at Phil’s Trail known for its excellent mountain biking. Load your board or skis and you are just 20 minutes from Mt. Bachelor and our powder slopes. The historic downtown is just a short 15 minute stroll away, much of that through Drake Park along The Deschutes River. No matter which way you turn, you are in the thick of delightful Bend.

Location

Bend, Oregon, United States

The Galveston Avenue District is the new hot spot in Bend. Located just one block back from the Deschutes River, this shopping and dining corridor marks the most recently revitalized area of west side Bend. Galveston avenue boasts of everything from breweries (Sunriver Brewing, 10 Barrel Brew Co, and Brother Jon’s are all within one block of one another), breakfast spots, bakeries, fine dining, juice bars, doughnut shops, bike rentals, The Lot food truck court, real New York style pizza joint, and even Hawaiian shaved ice all right there within four blocks.
Right close is Drake Park along the Deschutes River, a must see when visiting Bend. This popular downtown community gathering place hosts many events throughout the spring, summer and fall, including the District’s Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration. The park features nearly a half mile of riverfront, 13 acres of open lawn, an outdoor stage, restrooms and small picnic tables. Drake Park is home to Great Horned Owls who are actively nesting with their owlets in the spring season, so bring your binoculars! This section of the river is also the put out place for the Deschutes River Float. During the summer months, a shuttle runs from this location to The Old Mill District so you can bring your inner tubes, float all the way down the river from there, right back to this location, then walk back to your vacation home!
