Refurbished 100 year-old house, bright with a lovely sea view from the big terrace.
Private room on the ground floor next to the road. New window with double glass. If you're very sensitive to noise, you might still hear the cars. Weekends are quieter. Kitchen, living room and terrace are shared. New and recycled decoration. 12 minutes walking from the sea and hiking trails. Bus stop opposite the house. Supermarket and coffee shop at a 3 minutes. Please, read the information in the ad.

The space
You will stay at a 100 year-old house. It was a very charming ruin so I took the risk of trying to remodel it. I've done some jobs myself, like finding out the bricks under the plaster and leaving them like they are right now. I also decorated the whole house myself with new and recycled furniture, as my budget is limited and I like it like this. Please appreciate the value of the house and dont come with hotel expectations. It's just my house and I am sharing its charm with you.

This house was originally for tomato packaging. After that, the old owners built more rooms themselves, that's why the structure is so peculiar and rooms are not perfect squares. They also sold home made rugs. Please appreciate the value and the effort to restore this old place, after 35 years abandoned.

The room is next to the main road, so if you are super sensitive to noise, even though the window is new and has double glass, you might not like it. Punta Hidalgo is quiet, but as it is a road, cars and people use it, specially early in the morning. For most people it's not a problem. I have another room in the same house at the back, which has a private room and is quieter. Price is similar.

The bathroom is semiprivate. You will not share your toilet and shower with anyone. But I also shower there in another one, and exceptionally, someone might use the other shower and toilet. If you want your privacy, just close the door to use it.

In the kitchen, you'll be able to cook with moderation. That way we can all use it. The oven is not included. You can also use the living room, the terrace and the back patio, all shared areas. If you smoke, the terrace is where you can do it, otherwise we would have the smell inside the house. Visits are not allowed. The views are very nice cos you can see the sea and listen to the waves, and also the mountain Dos Hermanos.

Remember you are in a private house, so I would appreciate if you can keep it as clean and tidy as it is. Furniture cannot be moved around, only those in/for the terrace to enjoy the sun. If you're gonna spend the day out and want to take your food with you, please do not take my cutlery with you, especially without permission, as I use it too and it wouldnt be the first time something is missing or disappears. If you need anything, let me know and I will help. If you break or lose something because you didnt respect these rules, I will ask for compensation. Just show civic responsibility. As it's just my house, you may find a spider, one hair and those things I'm sure you also have at your house, so again, do not come here with 5* hotel expectations. If there's a problem in the room, like something is broken, let me know cos it¡s possible I am not even aware of it.

I try to respect the environment so please turn off all he lights you are not using, like when you go to another room (night tables, the entrance, stairs, etc.). About water, in the Canary Islands it's limited and the amount depends on the gas bottle or the capacity of the boiler. Please have quick showers and close the taps while you're using the soap. That way we will all have hot water. Please, respect these rules.

Washing machine is 2€. I have washing powder. If you stay at least 1 week, you can wash once for free.

Other things to note
Again, the room is next to the road. The window is new and has double glass, but if you are very sensitive to this type of noise, you might find it a bit annoying, specially early in the morning. Most people dont have problems. I insist on this to avoid you coming to the house, not feeling confortable and then complaining about something you could have known in advance if you had read the information. Thank you.

Also, I have 3 cats in the house. 2 are street cats and not interested at all in people, so they hide, only the little one is friendly. They are not allowed to go inside the rooms for guests. I'm allergic so I try to keep everything clean. If you don't like animals, you may not feel confortable here. Even though the house is clean and I pay attention to this, it's always possible to find a bit of hair.

I'm a very dynamic and thoughtful woman. I've lived in different countries and I've traveled a lot on my own. I love reading, writing and learning new things. I enjoy nature, animals (specially my cats), music and dancing. I also like meeting new people from all over the world. But I'm not on Airbnb to date anyone. Three years ago this house was a ruin and I've worked a lot to turn it into what it is today. I love this house so much and I think it's so beautiful that I want people to come in, enjoy it and feel at home. However, I like people who are able to treat it with care and respect. Treat others the way you like to be treated; that applies also to things.

During your stay
Guests can be independent, even if I'm home. I want people to feel home so I respect their privacy a lot. I'm available to chat a bit, but as I work from home, sometimes I am busy working or simply relaxing. I like to know about people's trip and their stay, and I am more than happy to help and offer advice about the area or the island. I speak English and Spanish.
