Guests often search for this popular amenity
Take a step back in time and relax in this late 19th century traditional stone farm cottage beside the beautiful Asta Loch where you can enjoy fresh air, wildlife & walks, in-season trout fishing and a nine hole golf course & club house. The club house hosts traditional Shetland music nights alternate Thursday evenings and the nearby picturesque Scalloway village has 2 general merchants, a pharmacy & health centre, a swimming pool, castle & museum, a chinese takeaway, pub, cafes and restaurants.

The space
The cottage or ‘crofthouse’ is part of the family run working farm between the heather-covered hills of Tingwall and Asta. It has a touch of yesteryear but with modern amenities and has been a much loved family home for many generations. It is now only resided in by family during the summer months. The main farmhouse is right next door and family members will be more than happy to chat & answer queries and to help in any way they can. There are working dogs and sheep so I’m afraid other dogs aren’t permitted but if you have other pets you would like to take then just let us know. The bird life is bountiful in this area and as we have trees (a rarity in Shetland 😄) we quite often get unusual ones taking shelter in the garden.

I am a retired teacher and have been living in Ghana for 46 years. I married a Ghanaian and raised my family here so I have a great local knowledge of Accra and Ghana.. I am energetic, full of life and enjoy Scottish dancing and the Hash House Harriers.
