Wombat Cottage is a unique natural sandstone property located in a beautiful rural Tasmanian setting. The cottage is set on 111 acres of rolling hills and bushland, far away from the city noise and lights, You are only 45 minute drive to Launceston, Devonport and 30 minutes from stunning Greens Beach, Bakers Beach and Narawantapu National Park. You will love the apartment space that we have prepared for you which is all about rest, relaxation and nature.

The space
The apartment at Wombat Cottage is Joined to the main building on the second storey and has lovely rural views, its own courtyard with outdoor fireplace and indoor/outoor kitchen. It has its own private parking and private entrance. The apartment has been recently fully renovated with a new bathroom, indoor/ outdoor kitchen and deck space. I have loved putting alot of time and energy into creating a space that is relaxing with modern ammenities, whilst maintaining its vintage farmhouse aesthetic.
The private courtyard is a sunny afternoon delight with its own nectarine tree and gardens. There is also an outdoor firepit for guests to use.
The property is located at the end of a gravel driveway 1.6kms from the road and is fully off-grid. We have solar power, batteries and a generator for backup. The property is also on tank water and uses gas for hot water and cooking. The apartment is heated via ducted heating and there is a fan for guests to use if needed, however the climate here tends to be cool in the evenings.

Guest access
Guests can access their own private courtyard with outdoor fireplace, bbq and furniture. The property consists of 110 acres of rolling pasture and forested areas that guests are welcome to explore, go walking to the top of the hill or find a nice spot to picnic and take in the sunset.

I live in the countryside in Tasmania Australia with my husband Bevan and our dog Frankie. We live off grid in the the stone cottage my step father built using hand tools and the stones off the land. I have been renovating the house for the last couple of years and also enjoy making art, music (playing the drums) and of course travel. My husband Bevan and I are looking forward to our world trip 2019!
