Behold, your own private Lodge! This classic A-frame mountain house is a one-of-a-kind gem. Located only a one-minute walk to Stowe Mountain Resort w/ access to the best skiing and summer activities in the state, you and your friends + family will stay in style. This private chalet is the epitome of comfy retro design, yet modernized in many ways to accomodate contemporary needs. If you need a place to call home during these uncertain times, this house is your comfy refuge.

The space
This is your lodge! There are none like it, and it's all yours. Designed by ski house architect and local legend Larry hess, this classic A-frame is what other mountain vacation houses dream of being. The grand living room unlocks this space's unique charm with behemoth windows that look right at the Mount Mansfield. Sun pours through this space in the afternoon and all you really will want to do is lay on the shag carpet and read a crazy old book from our library of awesomely weird old books. We have built in-everything here. Classic mid century modern nerds will go crazy in this place. But even if you're not, you'll admire the unique layout and interior design.

The newly renovated kitchen can easily satisfy any chef's needs while your guests feast on the ancient imported dining room table from Austria. How did it get in here? No one knows, but it's awesome. Also, more built-ins! While you're at it, say hi to Bob the Buffalo mounted on the wall. Don't worry, he's friendly.

We have four full bedrooms and two half bedrooms. The master bedroom is a sun-filled, high ceiling room with tons of space and access to that bathroom of dreams (see photos) as well as an attached shower and bath. The bathroom of your dreams is accessed from the master. Huge two-person tub. Check. Infinity mirror. Check. Insanely retro wallpaper and shag carpeting. You betcha. Don't get lost down there, you may never come out.

The guest room now sports a full size bed (not pictured) with attached full bathroom. Great early morning sun makes this room one of the nicest spaces for sleeping. The boys dorm is just all the things. Five beds, five closets, five drawers, five sets of towels, five cups in the bathroom -- all color coordinated. Doesn't get any more 60's than that! The girls dorm has the same color-coordinated awesomeness and bit more room. Of course, these rooms don't identify with a specific gender anymore -- the 60's was a different time.

The newly renovated basement is perfect for the kids to play in or those evenings where you just need to cozy up and watch a flick on the massive TV. We have a connected TV with the options for Netflix and Amazon streaming. Don't stay down here too long either!

Guest access
Guests have access to every single nook and cranny of this spacious private Lodge. Like we said, it's all yours!

Other things to note
This is a home with a lot of character and history, please treat it with respect and forgive her for some of her older quarks. Some parts of this house haven't changed much since the sixties, while other pieces (like the kitchen) have been upgraded to meet contemporary needs.

Please note that due to the house's unique design and character, there are various different levels in the common room that require going up and down 4 or 5 stairs. A few guests have reported that the space is difficult for small children because of this design element. However, many many other families report absolutely no problem at all.

We do not allow big parties or gatherings without permission ahead of time.

gentleman/explorer. Vermont is home, but so is any ocean or mountain. I work in the fields of tech, travel, and hospitality and am exploring a more rural existence to facilitate all of these. Experience is my currency of choice and I am currently experimenting with its possibilities. I like hazy IPAs, existential conversations, and deep powder. I hope to write a book one day (about anything) so I can lead this bio with that accomplishment. Check out my listed place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn!
