The space
****PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING TO AVOID ANY SURPRISES***

The apartment, while open concept, has living, dining, and sleeping designations with a full bath. The king sized bed with mattress topper is sure to be comfy and cozy. There are comfortable love seats deep enough to sleep a couple small children, and a pack n play is available for use. An air mattress and bedding is provided as well for more options. There is a window air conditioner for relief.
We have included the basic creature comforts: bath towels, soap, shampoo and other toiletries in case you forget, in the bathroom. In the kitchen, there are paper towels, dish towels and cloths, along with dish soap and essential cleaning supplies. You will find salt, pepper, oil and sugar in the cupboard. There is a coffee maker with an assortment of pods and snacks set out to make you feel right at home. They are complimentary, so please enjoy!
Direct TV is included along with a DVD player and a selection of DVDs. If you've forgotten a book to read the shelves hold a few interesting titles.
For those guests with small children, I have a high chair, pack n play with bedding, toys and books.

Guest access
Your stay includes access to the parking pad, the sidewalk to the apartment and the front lawn. There is outdoor patio furniture for your use as well as a grill and table on the parking pad for cooking out. The grilling utensils are in the kitchen closet. Please do not use the garage for access to the apartment. There is a door leading to the garage from inside the space that we ask you not to use except in an emergency. You do, however, have access to the attached garage for use of the bikes and beach chairs only. Feel free to collect them from there and return when finished using.

Other things to note
******************************************* There is NO WIFI available at the apartment.

The house above is a permanent residence for my aunt Beverly. You may see her around doing yard work or other tasks about the property. She has a dog named Bear. He does bark, but will be kept on the upstairs deck most of the time. Bev walks him around the neighborhood, so he may happen to meet you and say hello. He's friendly, but big, black and hairy.
*******************************************
PETS
Dogs are welcome to stay in the apartment and use the grounds, however, there is a 2 dog limit and a $25 fee, per stay. You can pay this fee upon check out. Check out for guests with dogs is also an hour earlier at 10 am. Additionally, we ask that you clean up after your pet. A garbage can is located on the parking pad along with a pooper scooper. I would also appreciate your help trying to keep them off the bed and couches.

ROOM TAX
The county charges a 5.5% room tax on all lodging facilities. These dollars go towards promoting Door County Tourism. I have incorporated the tax into the nightly rate as of October 19, 2018.

Location

Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, United States

The neighborhood itself is quiet. Our neighbors are friendly and respectful. The road along the house doesn't get much traffic but we will have an occasional bike or footrace routed that way.

You are but a short distance from Sturgeon Bay's historic downtown and easy access to the counties main highway which can take you up the peninsula to many quaint villages and area attractions.

If you enjoy hiking, Crossroads at Big Creek, a nature preserve and historic village, and the Door County Land Trust, are both within walking distance.

If beaches are what you are after, the somewhat lesser known Portage Park beach on Lake Michigan is a short drive along the canal connecting Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay. The Sturgeon Bay coast guard station is located near there and while most of the grounds are not open to the public, the north break wall is.

If you visit us in winter we are just off the snowmobile trails and those said hiking trails are great for cross country skiing. Crossroads at Big Creek grooms the trails and even provides skis for visitors free of charge.

We provide bikes for your use along with beach items to make it easier for you to enjoy the surrounding area. The bikes and beach chairs are located in the attached garage. A beach bag with towels is located in the kitchen closet.

Sturgeon Bay, itself, boasts many fine dining and shopping experiences. Galleries and museums offer entertainment and interest. Public beaches and parks are plentiful. The city prides itself on the many planned events for guests who visit and locals who reside here. Take time to visit the Door County Visitor Bureau center or website to discover all this county has to offer!

To access walking trails: If you walk down the hill along Vermont Place and take the curve onto 20th you will see walking trails throughout the field on the left that follows Big Creek. That is part of a system of trails through Crossroads. If you walk up the Vermont Place hill and turn right onto Cove Rd and immediately jog left you will see a trail heading into the wooded property on the right side of the road. That is also affiliated with Crossroads at Big Creek and has a system of trails through there.

Directions to Portage Park: Drive up the Vermont Hill. Turn right onto Cove Rd. and then jog left right away onto Canal Rd. Follow Canal Rd. until you reach the Coast Guard station. Turn left onto TT. The entrance to the park is about a mile or so down TT to the right, and the entrance is a bit disguised so you need to be looking closely for it.

Stay-at-home mother of six. I am very busy caring for my family, but when I have some free time I enjoy being active with things like yard work and volleyball, reading, studying the Bible and listening to sermons/talk radio. I love God and family. I am a homebody, but do enjoy the company and conversation of my sisters or a close friend. As an Airbnb host I pride myself on attention to detail, cleanliness and responsiveness. I will try my very best to meet your expectations during your stay. I wish I traveled more, but when I do, I appreciate those same things! I've only had 2 Airbnb experiences, but they were wonderful!

During your stay
My family and I do not live on premise. I like to give my guests their privacy so you probably won't see me. My aunt, however, lives in the house above and helps with yard maintenance so you may see her watering the plants outside the apartment or mowing the lawn. She is available if you have any immediate problems or questions. I would prefer to handle any issues though, so please do not hesitate to contact me any hour of the day. We are around and available unless I let you know otherwise.
