I am sorry that these guests did not enjoy their stay at my villa as many guests before them have, as my previous reviews show.
To clarify and answer all complaints made by the guests :
1. First of all, my listing clearly states that my house is on the NORTH FINGER of Jolly Harbour, which is a 20-25 min walk to amenities & few mins walk to the North Finger beach.
Some people prefer the location, as its further away and therefore quieter than the South Finger, which can be very busy in high season.
I also provide details for car and golf cart hire because of the distance.
It appears that these guests booked the house without reading the listing properly, or doing any prior research.
They hired a golf cart, which my onsite manager Joann rushed to get, and had delivered to the house.
They then refused to pay for the golf cart citing, my inaccurately listed villa.
What part of NORTH FINGER 20 MINS WALK is there to not understand?
After days of trying to avoid payment, they eventually paid for the cart rental.
2. After losing the argument regarding the golf cart, the guests then began bombarding myself and JoAnn with a list of complaints, to facilitate a refund of sorts, while still staying in the villa.
Not once did they ask to be moved by JoAnne, who manages several other villas on Jolly Harbour, or by AirBnB.
These guests claim to have experienced more incidents in their 4 week stay than my previous guests have in the last 10 years.
They also claimed that cockroaches had 'jumped' at them on several occasions during their stay.
I live in NYC, with some of the biggest and most aggressive roaches know to man.
Never has a roach jumped at me.
JoAnn, who lives a few doors down from my villa, and has lived on Jolly Harbour for 14 years, was also very surprised to hear about these renegade cockroaches.
Because of mosquitoes and other critters, I often have the house treated before guests arrive, as I did on this occasion.
The resort also sprays regularly to combat the insects.
But this is the Caribbean.
As is the norm in these climates, you can't always stop the creatures getting in.
When the guests complained, I paid to have the house fumigated.
The exterminator found no evidence of rodent infestation.
The electrical system is checked on a regular basis, and there is no problem with it.
There may have been an issue with whatever appliances the guests brought with them.
There had never been a problem with the toilets continually blocking, until these guests arrived with their baby.
When they informed me of the blocked toilets, I immediately called in a plumber at some expense, who informed me the toilets were blocked by baby diapers he had pulled out of the pipes.
The guests denied flushing them.
Yet they were there with their baby, the toilets blocked several times, and there were diapers stuck in the plumbing.
None of my previous guests had babies.
Maybe this was a coincidence.
I and my manager were simply unable to satisfy these guests in any way, but I do hope they find a more suitable property for their next holiday.
