We will never forget this amazing experience. Thank you Carolina. Carolina was not just a great host, but also a great great soul. She brought me back to life after a near-death experience. My dad and sister flew in from Netherlands and a friend and I from NYC. We then drove to Playa Hermosa with a rental. She welcomed us like we were her actual family. We had some amazing pool-side talks with her with good coffee and baklava my dad brought. She was more like a part of our family than a host. She helped us with anything we asked from her. The home is made of clay and wood, spacious, clean and with an amazing view. Laid in an estate she owns that is acres and acres big. With 300-400 year-old trees between the 5 lovely homes she designed and built herself. The home and the estate is such a pleasure to wake up to with your family and a breakfast on the rustic wooden table facing outside. On day 2 and my 40th birthday we went to the beach. No life guards but a lot of dangerous waves. A rip current took me into the ocean and I almost drowned. A lovely Costa Rican surfer girl came and rescued me. She was literally half my size. Now she is a part of our family too! If she was 30 seconds too late I would have not made it. Thank you my angel Gia! Then they brought me home. Carolina came with an renal elixir and some herbal oils she prepared and while I was half conscious she did an hour of reiki on me. My dad and sister attest that she brought me back to life. And when I woke back up, she told me that I was reborn, and this time in Costa Rica. How can one forget this lovely lady? They greet one and other with a lovely phrase in Costa Rica, "pura vida". Carolina told me I was born again to pura vida. The place is 10 km away from Jaco (which has everything Miami has) and about 60km (40miles) drive from amazing Manuel Antonio, which has a National Park and a twin city called Quepos. Local fish restaurants at Quepos are heavenly! The kitchen is cute and has all the necessities to cook a great meal. We cooked plenty while there. The pool is clean and great for pool-side conversations. Costa Rica is a truly amazing country. I have traveled all my life with my family (Kurdish refugee from Turkey here). I have seen a lot of places in my life. From Brazil to Canary Islands. I have never seen a country in such great harmony with nature. And Carolina... a true blessing to meet. Four of us are already making plans to go back in the rain season. Carolina, te quieremos mucho y gracias por todo. Taner and family...

The atmosphere was beautiful as far as surroundings, and location. However the power did go out at least once or twice a day, towels were only replaced once, there was no hand soap provided, along with only one roll of toilet paper

Carolina was very nice and helpful to organize our stay, helping with taxis and tours. The overall atmosphere of the place is really peaceful and pleasant, with a big garden and wooden houses. However the house had many issues, and was definitely not worth the price for us: - There was no basic products provided (no toilet paper, no soap in the bathroom, no garbage bags...) - The kitchen was small for 7 people and lacked many stuff to cook properly: the oven was dangerously old (the upper part fell once in our dish...), no colander and no peeler... - This is an ecological house in the middle of the nature, with the downside that there are many insects everywhere in the house: cockroaches in the kitchen, bats in the bedroom, mosquitoes (there are mosquito nets but with many holes) - The couch can make an extra bed but really not comfy - It's not 100% clear in the ad but the pool is shared between 4/5 houses. So is the WiFi probably as it was really hard to get connection.

Thanks for the suggestions, we will continue to improve and we look forward to next year. I'm surprised. Why did not you say you had a bat in the room? We have a man who works in maintenance every day, you saw him in the garden, invited him to dinner at the house, you stayed a week and did not say anything to anyone who had a bat in the room? We've never seen a bat in the house. In the house we have toilet paper and trash bags for the arrival when they are finished people buy their things they need, especially when they come for many days as in this case. About the insects we are in the middle of the jungle, you saw limpets, monkeys, toucans, squirrels, iguanas, you hoped not to see insects in a kitchen in the middle of the jungle? We do not use poisons to fumigate out of respect for nature. The oven gave problems but did not say that it was replaced at that time by a new one. The strainer and peeler were given to you immediately when you needed them. The only non-spring mattress I offered to replace it the first day and the person who slept in it told me that I did not need a change that was okay with that mattress. And the Musketeer if he had a hole of an inch in the door today we are going to repair it because we have been all the time with people in the house. I will be more attentive to the kitchen equipment. Best regards Ugo!

We loved our experience at casa doyo! The house was quite charming and a comfortable space for my family and me. The premises are beautifully well kept as well as the pool area which my kids (ages 9 and 5) throughly enjoyed. It's good to know that the pool isn't really available for swimming after dark. However, the tranquility of the house is a great way to unwind and relax after a long day of playing at the beach and swimming. The house is clean and well kept. The kitchen has a sufficient amount of supplies but it is minimal. If you plan on making special foods in the kitchen I would recommend taking any special appliances or utensils. Carolina is an excellent host and readily available to help with whatever you need. we highly recommend it!
