What a perfect holiday, that view alone is worth a drive from any airport! Every morning when you wake up and open your curtains, you see beautiful hills and valleys. Breathtaking! The house and garden are spacious and have everything you need (dishwasher, washing machine, internet etc). You do have to keep in mind that you are pretty much alone out there. Lots of peace and quiet to enjoy. You can easily spend a day relaxing at the pool, enjoying your breakfast on the terrace and walking in the mountains. A small Italian village is close where you can get all your groceries, and enjoy coffee, wine and pizza. For all other activities you will need to go for a short drive, but within 40-60 minutes you can have great day trips. We went to the caves, to Pisa and to Florence (a bit longer drive), to Cinque Terre and to the beach. You never have to get bored. For really good restaurants I recommend going to Aulla (30min drive). Thanks again Rosalind for a lovely stay! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

This is an amazing house, I agree with a previous review that the photos don't do it justice. The views from the house are simply stunning. It is a spacious and nicely decorated house, plenty of room for our family of 6 (two adults, three teens, one 6 year old). Two bathrooms were great. Bedrooms were lovely, especially the two at the front with balconies and mountain views! The house has a lovely, comfortable, lived-in feel to it. The kitchen was well equipped and the BBQ was great. The pool was wonderful, steps in at one end (perfect for our little one) and the rest of it deep enough for serious swimming. The house is a bit out of the way but that is exactly what we wanted, and it makes for a lovely peaceful and relaxing holiday. Rosalind's directions were perfect, and we really appreciated all the tips for days out etc. The drive up is a little ropey but fun! We had two easy day trips from the house - one to Pisa, and one to San Terenzo/Lerici. Communication was excellent. This house is highly recommended. We are hoping to return another time!

An amazing house in a fantastic location. It was brilliant to walk straight from the house in the hills and then return for a swim in the pool overlooking the mountains.

Beautiful area and beautiful place to relax in this "escape house" with family or friends. Rosalind has been very avalaible and gave us all the information we need to have a great time. However you could have some trouble finding the house if you use a gps, so as a little tip you better read and follow steadily the information given by Rosalind

We had a really great time in Rosalind´s house. The communication with Rosalind was very good and she helped us with our wishes, where she could. It was wonderful up in the hills. The way up to the house is long and winding, but however, the view to the Apouane Alps is so spectacular and fascinating every new morning and day. This view and the peace, as well as the great huge pool compensate for every kilometer of the journey through the hills. We had great weather and so we enjoy the swimming in the pool very much. The children had a lot of fun as well. From the hills we started to some excursions in the region Tuscany and Liguria (for example to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre). The day trips in this region were absolutely interesting and we loved walking, sweating and swimming in the Cinque Terre especially and there are so many places easy to reach in a day trip. The house is very generously built and the beds are very good for sleeping well. The kitchen is big and there are a lot kitchen utensils over there. We had a really great time and we thank Rosalind for these fascinating holidays. The children loved it so much, they will never forget these days and we of course as well. Thank you Rosalind for everything

I'm a full time working mother of 3 who fell in love with Italy as a student and dreamt of one day owning a home there. We've made sure that our Italian home is light, spacious and simple - no tv, no wifi. I work in publishing so love books and you'll discover a bureau full of them, along with board games and cards. Make pizzas in the wood burning oven or drive into the valley for a campari in the medieval piazza of Fivizzano. Our housekeeper and gardener will have ensured the villa and its pool are immaculate for your arrival.
