This is an up-and-coming historic area within the city limits of Atlanta. It's close to the major interstates, MARTA (local transit), downtown, midtown, and Six Flags. You will most likely see people on foot throughout the neighborhood, as we are on the MARTA bus route and have many shops nearby. Despite being off a busy thoroughfare (MLK Jr. Dr.), the neighborhood itself stays pretty quiet.

I'm proud of my little home and I hope you will enjoy the unique touches throughout. :)

The space
Home Amenities:
You will have a private room with queen bed, keyed bedroom door, and Wi-fi access. You have use of the main hall bathroom with tub/shower and of course clean towels. As well, you have access to the living room which has a TV equipped with streaming channels, and a blu-ray player (for which I have some movies). The covered porch is also a nice nook to enjoy a meal or morning coffee, or just get some fresh air. It’s great for watching fireflies in the summertime too!

Kitchen Amenities:
For safety's sake, please do not use the stove/oven. You may use the microwave to heat up food and may store your food in the fridge or freezer. There is an electric kettle available if you need to heat up water as well. Feel free to use plates, cups and utensils as needed. I simply ask that you please clean up after whatever you use. There is filtered water in a Brita pitcher the fridge, easy to refill. And help yourself to coffee, tea and espresso à-la Keurig at the “coffee station” in the kitchen! I also have a French press and grinder, if you’re more the DIY type.

Check-in:
Check-in time is flexible and no-contact. Check out is at 12pm.

Parking:
Off-road parking is available in the front driveway, but please make sure to park on the right-hand side of the driveway and do not block the garage door, so I can also park. :) Street parking in front of the house is also acceptable.

Guest access
You will have access to the driveway, porch, the main living/dining area and kitchen, the full bath in the hall and your bedroom. If needed, you may also go out the back into the backyard, but please don't lock yourself out! (see house manual)

Other things to note
Because of the COVID-19 situation I've done my best to clean all touch points and surfaces with Lysol disinfectant wipes and bleach cleaner to minimize any potential exposure.

Location

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Nearby:

• There is a paved nature trail at the end of my street that winds through the Lionel Hampton Park, great for taking in some local wildlife, or a medium-level bike ride (it’s hilly!). I’ve seen deer, rabbits, large water birds, etc. on multiple occasions!

• I’m located less than 2 miles from the Westside portion of the Atlanta Beltline, a multi-mile mixed-use trail that connects many Atlanta neighborhoods and attractions. Be sure to look it up!

• Immediately available adjacent to my neighborhood are conveniences such as fast food (McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, American Deli), CVS pharmacy, Dollar General, a small liquor store (T&K), and multiple gas stations with convenience stores. A short drive away is a great neighborhood grocery store called Westview Corner Grocery with lots of natural/organic staples and snacks, and craft beers!

• And speaking of craft beers, there are a few local breweries and restaurants nearby on the Beltline that have ample supply!

Other cool details:

• My house is a mere 10 minute drive to Six Flags!

• 16 minute drive to the Silver Comet Trailhead at Mavell Rd. It’s a 61.5 mile long paved trail that runs all the way to the Alabama border! This quiet, non-motorized, paved trail is for walkers, hikers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, horses, dog walkers, and is wheelchair accessible. Very scenic and lots of shade.

• My neighborhood butts up to Westview Cemetery. Westview Cemetery (established in 1884) is the largest cemetery in the Southeast today, and one of the largest non-profit cemeteries in the United States. Many of Atlanta’s pioneers are interred there, such as Asa G. Candler (founder of Coca-Cola), Mayor William B. Hartsfield, Donald L. Hollowell, Robert Woodruff, Evelyn Lowery (civil rights activist and leader), and many more. It also has a breathtaking mausoleum and chapel which has been featured in film/TV productions.
