"the pickers cottage" is an 1850's historic brick house originally used as a place to house fruit pickers! This gorgeous home is situated in the character rich, inner city of Hobart. The building has been transformed into a light, spacious, cosy, contemporary 2 bedroom accomodation which is centrally located within minutes walk to the CBD. It is fully equipped, self contained and private. You are most welcome to come and stay and enjoy this memorable abode.

The space
10 minutes walk to Salamanca market and close proximity to a wide array of cafes, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and the Farm gate market, makes this a unique and fun filled place to stay.

The space has a wonderful ambience with bespoke furniture, artworks, books, plants, modern conveniences, comfortable beds and luxurious linen. Wifi, smart TV and bluetooth speaker are available for your enjoyment.

There is a cute courtyard with deck and picnic chairs to enjoy a morning coffee. Breakfast goodies are provided.

Where you’ll be

Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

Hobart is a vibrant city full of cultural events and diverse experiences to be had. 19th century architecture adorns the streetscapes and you will enjoy the ease of accessibility to places such as constitution dock, Salamanca market and Mt Wellington. There is an excellent shopping precinct and stunning parks and gardens.

There are wonderful places to eat and enjoy wine and coffee. The state cinema has a great selection of films and a fascinating bookshop to check out.

Bushwalking, mountain bike riding and sailing are part of everyday life for many Hobart residents and can be easily accessed by visitors also. MONA offers world class experiences and I can recommend catching the ferry as a great way to get there. Templo and Franklin are famous Australian restaurants and cafes such as Pigeon hole, Hamlet and Small fry are worth a visit.

I am from Tasmania and am currently raising a young family of energetic children. We live in Hobart and run a lovely restaurant called Templo which is situated in Patrick Street and specialises in Spanish and Italian style food. I am also a passionate art teacher. Prior to this, I travelled a great deal to India and Nepal studying and meditating. I am a great lover of gardening and generally any activity that promotes world peace. I also love bushwalking and being in nature.
