Private island in the beautiful archipelago of Hvaler; the municipality with the highest number of sunny days per year in Norway!
Your own island.
Your own boat.
Your own cabin.
Your own kingdom.
Boat with motor.
The cabin is off-grid, but there is 12v available for charging phone/ipad. The 12v is powered from a solar panel, and it is sufficient to bring your usb charger cable; a 12v/5v USB converter is available. Please note that a 12v/230v inverter will not work, and a 230v charger will not work. You may charge your laptop in a nearby grocery store or restaurant, or simply switch it off. If you have questions about power/electricity; feel free to ask.
There is no running water. Additional drinking water (free of charge) is available from the local grocery store. There are four 5 litre canisters in the cabin which are suited for collecting drinking water from the grocery store.
Interaction with guests
We will welcome you and give you the guided tour, then leave you alone. We are of course available via telephone or email.
Please note that late check-out is available on Sundays at a special rate.
Other things to note
The cabin is small, with a footprint of only 10 sqm. The cabin contains a small kitchen work bench and a two seated turn-up bedstead which converts into a small bed for two adults (preferably in love, as this bed is narrow) or children.
There are some books, board games and candles for that cozy cabin feeling, and the kitchen is equipped with the utensils you need to make proper home made food. Outside, in the garden, there is a fire pit that doubles for a bbq as well. Feel free to swap your book for another from our "book swap shelf".
There is a balcony bed that sleeps two adults and a child or up to three children.
The island has small private beaches at low tide, plenty of bare rock-face and a small privy in addition to the cabin and a playhouse for children. (which can be used for luggage storage at well.)
There are duvets, bed sheets, linens and towels, but you will need to bring your own toiletries.
There is a deposit of 1000 NOK, which will be released in full if you leave the premises as they were when you arrived. If you prefer to leave the used dishes on the counter and the floor unswepr, that's perfectly okay, but then we will claim the deposit.
The "cleaning fee" in your booking covers bed sheets and linens. The "deposit" covers the general cleaning of the property. (which applies if you leave the soiled dishes on the counter etc).
Hence, the "cleaning fee" is mandatory, while the "deposit" is refundable.
Please ask if this is unclear.
Check-in during the hours of darkness is not recommended.
From 26th of June to 21st of August 2016, Sunday-sunday bookings are mandatory. You may check inn or leave other days if you wish.
We are Cecilie and Eivind and we live with our three lovely children on a small farm outside the town of Moss in the south-eastern part of Norway, some 40 minutes south of the capital, Oslo.
On the farm we have free-range goats and some rabbits and a few houses for rent. They are available on Airbnb from time to time, in between long-term leases.
A few years ago we purchased a private island in the exciting archipelago of Hvaler; the pricipality with the most sunny days in Norway. On this private island, there is a cabin, and the entire island is available on AirbnbB for you to explore.
We have quite a wide experience with Airbnb, both as hosts and as guests, and we are looking forward to future vacations and business trips as well as hosting new guests in one of our strange properties.
Take care and see you soon;
Cecilie & Eivind
