The space

Private island in the beautiful archipelago of Hvaler; the municipality with the highest number of sunny days per year in Norway!

Guest access

Your own island.
Your own boat.
Your own cabin.
Your own kingdom.

Boat with motor.

The cabin is off-grid, but there is 12v available for charging phone/ipad. The 12v is powered from a solar panel, and it is sufficient to bring your usb charger cable; a 12v/5v USB converter is available. Please note that a 12v/230v inverter will not work, and a 230v charger will not work. You may charge your laptop in a nearby grocery store or restaurant, or simply switch it off. If you have questions about power/electricity; feel free to ask.

There is no running water. Additional drinking water (free of charge) is available from the local grocery store. There are four 5 litre canisters in the cabin which are suited for collecting drinking water from the grocery store.

Interaction with guests

We will welcome you and give you the guided tour, then leave you alone. We are of course available via telephone or email.

Please note that late check-out is available on Sundays at a special rate.

Other things to note

The cabin is small, with a footprint of only 10 sqm. The cabin contains a small kitchen work bench and a two seated turn-up bedstead which converts into a small bed for two adults (preferably in love, as this bed is narrow) or children.

There are some books, board games and candles for that cozy cabin feeling, and the kitchen is equipped with the utensils you need to make proper home made food. Outside, in the garden, there is a fire pit that doubles for a bbq as well. Feel free to swap your book for another from our "book swap shelf".

There is a balcony bed that sleeps two adults and a child or up to three children.

The island has small private beaches at low tide, plenty of bare rock-face and a small privy in addition to the cabin and a playhouse for children. (which can be used for luggage storage at well.)

There are duvets, bed sheets, linens and towels, but you will need to bring your own toiletries.

I don't think we will ever experience anything as amazing as we did by visiting Cecilie & Eivind’s little island. The images of the cabin online were already amazing but to see it in person & experience it, is priceless! If you want to create memories & spend quality time with family/friends you will never need to go anywhere else. Myself, my husband & my sister went together for a detox and part of our honeymoon travels. We cooked the best meals we've ever had over their outdoor fire space, we played card games, popped corn, watched amazing sunsets and sunrises, all in November! Cecilie & Eivind are just so lovely & kind, the checkin experience was great, they greeted us and brought us over to the island and went through everything, all on top of an insane sunset. Then we had a boat to use at our disposal. which we did. Images won't do it justice, I WISH I could share images of our trip as part of our review but if you want to see for yourself just search #YellowProductionsNorway on Instagram and you'll see the amazing time we had. 100% recommend.

This island is truly magical. We took three young children and it was great fun exploring the island with them, using the boat every day to get about and explore all the local islands and inlets. Eivind was fantastic and always at hand if we needed any help, even when we dropped our map into the sea..! I would truly recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure and returning to simplicity, getting away from it all for a while.

Eivind's place was an absolute gem. He and his family met us when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know about the house and boat. Our kids loved exploring the island and cruising around on the boat. The home is super basic and it made for some adventures. Would gladly return again!

Puristic but charming little cabin on a little island only accessible by motor boat (included). Our kids loved it there.

Cute and homely. Very basic but that's exactly what we expected - you have everything you need explained and provided and it's the perfect getaway from everyday life.

I was looking for something out of the ordinary to treat my husband on his birthday. I couldn’t have chosen a better place! We spent four relaxing and amazing days on this little paradise. The silence is magic, the surrounding idyllic, the perfect place to recharge ones batteries. The cabin has everything you need, every evening we enjoyed a lovely barbecue, we had a fun time exploring the surroundings by boat. Eivind is caring and friendly host who patiently waited for us since we drove in a totally wrong direction on our arrival day, he helped us getting our luggage on to the island and checked on us later on to see if we were doing fine. I can strongly recommend a break on this heavenly island. Thanks Eivind for sharing your property with us.

We had a great stay at Batholmen - really lovely time spent with the kids on the island. Having your own island and going everywhere by boat is a real novelty and one both myself and the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Great holiday and would recommend!

Hello.

We are Cecilie and Eivind and we live with our three lovely children on a small farm outside the town of Moss in the south-eastern part of Norway, some 40 minutes south of the capital, Oslo.

On the farm we have free-range goats and some rabbits and a few houses for rent. They are available on Airbnb from time to time, in between long-term leases.

A few years ago we purchased a private island in the exciting archipelago of Hvaler; the pricipality with the most sunny days in Norway. On this private island, there is a cabin, and the entire island is available on AirbnbB for you to explore.

We have quite a wide experience with Airbnb, both as hosts and as guests, and we are looking forward to future vacations and business trips as well as hosting new guests in one of our strange properties.

Take care and see you soon;
Cecilie & Eivind
